Merrell and Jeep® Launch New Moab Speed 2 Hiking Boots
Latest Collaboration of Boots Inspired by Wrangler 4xe...
Merrell, the globally recognized leader in outdoor footwear, has once again teamed up with the iconic Jeep® brand to launch an innovative collection of hiking boots. This collaboration draws inspiration from both Merrell’s latest hiking technology and the electrified Jeep Wrangler 4xe, catering to outdoor enthusiasts and adventure seekers alike.
Building on the success of their 2023 partnership, which introduced the popular Moab 3 hiking boot, this new 2024 collection focuses on advanced technologies designed for hiking and off-road exploration. The Merrell x Jeep Moab Speed 2 unisex shoes are set to appeal to way-finders, go-getters, and early adopters who share a passion for the great outdoors.
“The Jeep brand’s electric vehicle (EV) initiatives align perfectly with Merrell’s eco-aspirations,” said Pallav Tamaskar, Chief Marketing Officer at Merrell. “Our design team has incorporated thoughtful, intentional features into our modern, lightweight Moab Speed 2 hiking boot, which embodies the spirit of adventure.”
The Moab Speed 2 will be available for purchase starting Tuesday, November 12, in four eye-catching colorways that reflect popular Jeep paint colors: High Velocity, Tuscadero Pink, Bright White, and classic Black. Retail prices will be $180 in the United States and $190 in Canada.
Key features of the Moab Speed 2 include:
- Automotive-inspired Design: The boots feature a metallic upper reminiscent of Jeep vehicles, with a mesh underlay designed to mimic a radiator grille.
- Functional Hardware: Durable hardware and seatbelt-inspired webbing enhance the boots’ rugged aesthetic.
- Vivid Electric Blue Trim: This detail mirrors the styling of Jeep’s 4xe models, signifying sustainable driving.
Merrell’s Moab Speed 2 hiking boots are crafted to offer world-class comfort, traction, and breathability. They utilize a FloatPro™ Foam midsole for lightweight comfort, Vibram lugs for superior traction, and recyclable, breathable mesh lining, laces, and webbing.
Kim Adams House, director of licensing and merchandise for Stellantis, expressed excitement about the collaboration. “Following a successful run with the first boot, we know our consumers are engaged and look forward to reaching a new audience through this second collaboration with Merrell,” she stated. “We’re proud to see the bold colors of the Jeep brand and our 4xe technology brought to life in a new future for adventure.”
To showcase the capabilities of the Jeep 4xe and the Moab Speed 2, the brands are organizing a road trip from Marquette, Michigan, to Las Vegas, Nevada. Content creators Colleen Logan (@theworldiscolleen) and Matthew Chung (@chunger_shoots) will join the journey in Rapid City, South Dakota. Fans can follow along on Merrell’s Instagram, where they can win exciting giveaways.
The Merrell x Jeep collection will also be available at key retailers, including Zappos in the U.S. and Sports Experts in Canada. FCA’s global licensing agency, IMG, facilitated the collaboration.
