Jeep® Brazil Introduces 80th Anniversary Editions To Its Lineup:

New Compass 80th Anniversary Edition Is Now Open...

It’s Jeep® week! With the past Easter Sunday falling on April 4th also known in the Jeep community known as ‘4×4 Day’, the news cycle has surrounded the American adventure brand with the updated Compass, a teaser of the all-new three-row D-SUV for the Brazilian market, and the Moab Easter Jeep Safari. With the Jeep brand celebrating its 80th Anniversary in 2021, the American brand is spreading love across the globe by introducing special 80th Anniversary Edition vehicles.

In Brazil, which is the Jeep brand’s second-largest global market (behind the good ol’ U.S.A.), the brand has unveiled its 80th Anniversary Edition lineup to the public this week. Now, while the Wrangler and Grand Cherokee 80th Anniversary Editions are clearly the same that we have here in the United States (thanks to both vehicles being built in the U.S.), the Brazilian market Compass and Renegade are built there and receive a little more pizzaz than the models we are getting here.

The second-generation Jeep Compass began to be manufactured in Brazil, at the Jeep Automotive Pole, in 2016. The special edition 80th Anniversary Edition is the first of the newly updated Jeep Compass to arrive in the marketplace, with the rest of the lineup arriving soon after.

The updated Jeep Compass brings more performance with a new turbocharged 1.3-liter ‘Firefly’ inline-four-cylinder engine, which is part of the Stellantis Global Small Engine (GSE) family. The 1.3-liter makes 180 horsepower and 210 lb.-ft. (270 N•m) of torque. The ‘T270’ badging on the rear hatch represents the turbocharged output of 270 N•m from the 1.3-liter.

The updated Compass introduces an updated front, revised rear, and completely new interior. Things like a new steering wheel design, instrument panel, full LED exterior lighting, wireless phone charging, and the latest infotainment technology with the new vertically presented 10.1-inch Uconnect 5 touchscreen multimedia center.

The Compass 80th Anniversary Edition for Brazil, featured darkened graphite exterior features, black piano interior accents, and an all-black interior. It will be available in 6 exterior colors including Billet Silver, Carbon Black, Jazz Blue, Polar White, Recon Green, and Granite Gray (new for the model). Pricing for the Compass 80th Anniversary Edition starts at R $ 162,990 (or about $29,082 USD).

According to Jeep Brazil, only 1,000 units will be built. Those in Brazil looking to order one, have to pre-order on a special website or at a Jeep Brazil dealer. The first 48 hours are exclusive to current Jeep owners (after 4:00 p.m. on April 7, pre-orders will be able to everyone until they are gone). Whoever buys the updated Compass 80th Anniversary Edition already in the pre-order phase will have advantages, with billing within 30 days after the official launch and welcome kit composed by an Amazon Echo Dot (4th Generation) Smart Speaker with Alexa, Jeep branded gear items, and a special key chain from the brand’s 80th Anniversary collection.
