Meet The Euro-Spec 2019 Jeep Wrangler Sahara Overland:
The Luxury Version Of The Wrangler, North America Doesn't Get It...
An undisputed off-road champion and a unique vehicle for everyday urban adventures, the iconic Jeep® Wrangler (JL) offers excellent levels of comfort and superior driving dynamics. With features like the fourth-generation UConnect system, the optional Sky One-Touch powertop, and LED lighting, the newest generation of Wrangler is the most luxurious ever. But what happens when that luxury, just isn’t enough?
In Europe, Jeep sales have been reaching record levels this year. Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) announced earlier this year, that Jeep shipments to Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) region are up 73% this year.
One of Jeep’s biggest competitors in the EMEA region is Land Rover. Land Rover is known for its premium luxury off-road vehicles, and Jeep is coming in for the attack full-swing. Enter the European-only Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sahara Overland.
The 2019 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sahara Overland, offers rugged Jeep styling and offroad capability but with even more luxury. Even though the Sahara model is the most street-based Wrangler model currently, the Sahara Overland focuses more on the urban Wrangler owner.

The Wrangler Unlimited Sahara Overland will be powered by two choices of engine options. The 2.0-liter turbocharged inline four-cylinder engine delivers 270 horsepower and 295 lb.-ft. of torque and is paired with 8-speed automatic transmission. This engine is part of the Global Medium Engine architecture family and features Double Over Head Camshafts (DOHC), dual independent camshaft timing and a cooled exhaust gas recirculation (C-EGR) system. This is the first time that the combined use of a Twin Scroll turbocharger, C-EGR system, central direct injection and the independent liquid cooling intake of air, throttle body and turbo have been employed together. This combination of technologies affords superior levels of performance while at the same time reducing fuel consumption. The 2.0-liter also features fuel-saving Stop-Start (ESS) technology.
The other options are a 2.2-liter MultiJet II turbo diesel four-cylinder engine. This diesel powertrain features second-generation MultiJet technology, the new, efficient 2.2-liter diesel engine features four valves per cylinder, a belt-driven Double Over Head Camshafts (DOHC), 2,000-bar Common Rail injection system, solenoid injectors and a variable geometry turbocharger (VGT). Mated to a new eight-speed automatic transmission, the 2.2-liter turbo diesel engine delivers 200 horsepower at 3,500 rpm and 332 lb.-ft. of torque at 2,000 rpm. The 2.2-liter engine also features fuel-saving Stop-Start (ESS) technology.
The 2019 Jeep Wrangler just went on sale last month, for the EMEA region.
