Meet The 2025 Jeep® Wrangler 4xe Willys ’41

Retro Design Meets Modern Hybrid Performance...

Jeep® continues to celebrate its rich military history with the new 2025 Wrangler 4xe Willys ’41, a limited-edition Wrangler that bridges its legendary past with the future of hybrid innovation. Inspired by the iconic 1941 Willys MB, the original Jeep that earned its reputation in World War II (WWII), this special edition brings military-inspired styling and modern eco-friendly power to today’s off-road enthusiasts.

Design Inspired by the Willys MB –

The Wrangler 4xe Willys ’41 captures the essence of its WWII predecessor with its olive drab-inspired ’41 exterior paint. Exclusive 17-inch aluminum wheels in the same color are paired with 33-inch all-terrain tires, ensuring the model stays true to its rugged roots while delivering modern off-road performance.

Paying further homage to the military heritage, Jeep has added Drab Blue WILLYS / 4xe decals to the hood sides, replicating the factory stenciling found on the original Willys MB vehicles. Additional Army-style decals complete the authentic retro styling, making the 4xe Willys ’41 a striking nod to Jeep’s past.

Heritage-Inspired Interior with Modern Comforts –

Inside, the special edition features tan Heritage cloth seats, an olive drab fabric dashboard insert, and a custom ’41 shifter medallion, all crafted to evoke the utilitarian style of the original Willys MB. Jeep offers multiple roof options, including a body-color hardtop, Sky One-Touch powertop, and an exclusive tan soft-top, further enhancing the model’s vintage appeal.

For off-road durability, the Wrangler 4xe Willys ’41 is equipped with front and rear steel bumpers and a rear locker, making it as capable on rugged trails as stylish on city streets.

Eco-Friendly Powertrain with Off-Road Performance –

The 2025 Wrangler 4xe Willys ’41 is powered by Jeep’s class-exclusive plug-in hybrid (PHEV) system, combining a turbocharged 2.0-liter Hurricane4 I4 gasoline engine, two electric motors, and a high-voltage battery pack. This advanced setup delivers:

  • 49 MPGe (miles per gallon equivalent)
  • 21 miles of all-electric driving range

The hybrid powertrain retains Jeep’s iconic off-road capability while offering significant efficiency improvements, making it a true testament to the evolution of Jeep’s engineering since the “Go Devil” engine powered the original Willys MB.

A Legacy That Lives On –

The Willys MB, introduced in 1941, was born from a U.S. military request for a lightweight, all-terrain reconnaissance vehicle. Its durability and versatility earned it a storied reputation during World War II, becoming a symbol of reliability for soldiers. The Wrangler 4xe Willys ’41 honors this history while embracing modern technology, showcasing Jeep’s commitment to balancing tradition with innovation.

The new one looks like a monster truck next to the original. It looks really good. Would love to have this and a new Charger in my driveway

My question is, what platform is the Jeep Wrangler/Gladiator going on if Stellantis is moving to the four platforms, small, medium, large & frame. My question stems from the introduction of the Jeep Recon, which will be build on the STLA LArge platform. The STLA Large platform can produce a vehicle roughly 202" long, which is longer than the current Ford Explorer that can utilize up to a 32" tire, have up to 10.3" ground clearance and can house the hurricane-6 powertrains. Honestly to me, when you look at it this way, the new Recon sounds alot like a modern version of the SJ jeeps from the '70's & '80's. If so, hopefully a gas powered version will have more of the SJ Type front end than the EV variant. I guess it would make sense for the wrangler/gladiator to move to a version of the Frame platform?
