The Conquest was a badge-engineered version of the Mitsubishi Starion, a legendary Japanese sports car known for its turbocharged performance and sharp styling. Marketed in North America under the Chrysler, Dodge, and Plymouth brands, the Conquest was part of a collaborative effort to bring affordable, high-performance vehicles to the U.S. market. With its rear-wheel-drive (RWD) layout and aggressive fastback design, the Conquest quickly gained a following among enthusiasts.

This well-maintained 1985 Plymouth Conquest has popped up on the popular automotive auction site BringATrailer.com with only 37,000 miles. This rare, low-mile sports coupe is a standout from the ’80s performance era, featuring a turbocharged I4 engine and a 5-speed manual transmission.
This Conquest was sold new in Pennsylvania and recently resurfaced after long-term storage. Its Black Metallic paint with Silver Metallic lower accents is complemented by pop-up headlights, fog lights, a rear spoiler, and 15-inch wheels wrapped in 215/60 Summit Ultramax A/S tires. With power steering and four-wheel disc brakes, it offers a balanced and responsive driving experience.

Powering this classic is a turbocharged and intercooled 2.6-liter G54B I4 engine, delivering 170 horsepower and 220 lb.-ft. of torque. The power is sent to the rear wheels through a 5-speed manual transmission and a Sure-Grip limited-slip differential, making for a true driver’s car.
Inside, the cabin is finished in Gray leather with 6-way adjustable front bucket seats and a contoured rear bench. Features include automatic climate control, cruise control, power locks, and a cassette stereo with a graphic equalizer. Turbo-branded automatic shoulder belts and a full suite of auxiliary gauges — including boost pressure, oil pressure, and coolant temperature — enhance the retro vibe. The selling dealer notes the radio is currently inoperative and the dome lights work intermittently.

The car comes with its original window sticker, showing delivery to Brown-Daub Inc. of Easton, Pennsylvania, and a total price of $15,859. Additional documentation includes the owner’s manual, a front-end cover, and a clean Pennsylvania title. A mileage inconsistency noted on the Carfax report from September 2024 is believed to be a clerical error.
Bidding for this 1985 Plymouth Conquest ends on Tuesday, February 25 at 4:49 p.m. EDT. Don’t miss your chance to own this well-preserved piece of ’80s automotive history.
