Dodge enthusiasts have long appreciated the brand for delivering power and affordability. With the shift to electric power, maintaining this balance presents a new challenge. The 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona is set to debut with launch edition (dubbed First Edition) models, each loaded with pre-configured options that notably increase the price. Thanks to YouTuber Butter da Insider, we now have the first official look at the pricing for these First Edition models.
In an article from early June, we estimated that the new e-muscle cars could cost over $15,000 more than their 2023 HEMI®-powered counterparts. As it turns out, we were not far off.
According to the leaked screenshot, here is the pricing breakdown for the 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona:

For reference, the 2023 Dodge Charger R/T with the 5.7-liter HEMI® V8 had a starting MSRP of $45,065, while the 2023 Dodge Charger Scat Pack with the 6.4-liter HEMI® V8 had a starting MSRP of $51,925. These prices do not include the additional $1,595 destination fee.
For many fans, this price range is concerning. Electric vehicles (EVs) have been depreciating faster than their internal combustion engine (ICE) counterparts. This rapid loss in value is a significant deterrent for buyers wary of making a substantial financial commitment only to see their investment diminish quickly.
The 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona faces more than just pricing challenges as it shifts toward electric power. Recent surveys reveal widespread concerns regarding range anxiety, charging infrastructure, and accessibility. Many potential buyers fear getting stranded mid-trip due to insufficient power, especially during long-distance travel. This “range anxiety” underscores the importance of the Charger Daytona’s ability to handle extended journeys effortlessly.
The R/T model boasts a commendable all-electric range of up to 317 miles, while the Scat Pack offers a respectable 260 miles. However, the availability and reliability of charging infrastructure remain significant obstacles, particularly for urban dwellers and residents outside densely populated regions. Apartment and condo residents, as well as those in suburban and rural areas, often struggle with limited access to convenient charging solutions, amplifying concerns about practicality and usability.
Stay tuned as we will be getting an in-depth look at the production-ready 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona First Edition later this week.
