Jeep® Wrangler Rubicon Named ‘Best Family SUV for Off-Roading’

The 2024 Jeep® Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon (JL) received top honors in the ‘Best Family SUV for Off-Roading’ category at the 2024 What Car? Car of the Year awards.

The halo model for the Jeep brand, the four-door Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon, was highly praised for its excellent ability to uphold the brand’s off-road adventure reputation, comfortably outperforming its rivals.

“While some brands lose their pedigree over time, the Wrangler Rubicon shows that off-roading is still at Jeep’s core,” said Steve Huntingford, the Editor of What Car? Magazine. “In our latest 4×4 mega-test, the Rubicon proved nigh on unstoppable, driving up, over, and through the toughest obstacles we could find with ease and outperforming all its rivals. The ‘Trail Rated’ Rubicon is the Wrangler king-of-the-hill off-roading champion, representing the brand’s heritage as the ultimate Jeep vehicle for mastering maneuverability, articulation, ground clearance, as well as traction and water fording. The Rubicon that they were testing was powered by the turbocharged 2.0-liter Hurricane4 inline-four-cylinder, producing 270 horsepower and 295 lb.-ft. of torque, equipped with auto Start/Stop and an 8-speed TorqueFlite automatic transmission.

Not just for the streets, the Wrangler Rubicon was equipped for any journey with its Advanced Driver-Assistance System (ADAS), tough Gorilla Glass windscreen, and curtain airbags. The Uconnect 5 infotainment system ensures a comfortable and enjoyable journey, no matter the distance.
