Jeep® Takes Rubicon Xtreme Recon South Of The Border!
Only 100 Units Will Be Produced For Mexican Market...
Jeep® is getting ready to release yet another buzz model for the 2023 model year, with the launch of the 2023 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Xtreme Recon Edition. Until now, the Wrangler has yet to offer the Xtreme Recon package south of the border. But that is set to change with a very limited production run of 100 units scheduled to hit dealers this year.
Available only in the bold High-Velocity color, the 2023 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Xtreme Recon Edition boasts unmatched off-road capabilities with Command-Trac® and Rock-Trac® 4×4 systems, next-generation Dana M210 Heavy Duty front and Dana M220 rear axles, as well as, front and rear electronic locking differentials Tru-Lock. But the Xtreme Recon Package allows the Rubicon to go even further, thanks to the following equipment:
- 35-inch BF Goodrich T/A KO2 LT315/70R17C tires
- 17-inch by 8-inch Beadlock-capable wheels
- 4.56 rear axle ratio
- 1.5-inch factory suspension lift with uniquely tuned shocks
- Hinge-gate reinforcement by Mopar
- Jack spacer by Mopar
- Tire relocation kit by Mopar
- Wheel flare extensions
All of this makes it the most “Xtreme” and capable SUV of its kind, ready to conquer any gap, however difficult it may seem. This is done by offering a best-in-class approach angle (47.4°), departure angle (40.4°), ground clearance (32.8 mm or 12.9 inches), and water-fording capability (85.3 cm or 33.6 inches).
Under the hood, the Xtreme Recon comes with the 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 with the eTorque mild-hybrid system. The Pentastar is of course mated to an 850RE 8-speed automatic transmission. The combination delivers a total of 285 horsepower and 260 lb.-ft. of torque.
The eTorque mild-hybrid system features automatic start/stop, electronic power steering, extended injection cut-off, smart battery charging, and regenerative braking. Both the engine and fuel flow can be shut off at stops, descents, or deceleration phases.
The Pentastar engine benefits from low-end torque, much needed on 4×4 tours or when underfoot conditions are difficult.
The 2023 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon Xtreme Recon Edition has an MSRP of $1,432,900 MXN (or $75,029.80 USD).
