Jeep® Sells Its 5,000,000th Wrangler Since 1986!
Its Been 37-Years Since The Wrangler Nameplate Was Launched By AMC...
The Jeep® brand has reached a remarkable milestone with the sale of its 5,000,000th Jeep Wrangler – a distinguished 2023 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon 20th Anniversary Edition 4xe, adorned in the striking Earl exterior paint. This monumental purchase was made by a customer in Camden, New Jersey, who will not only enjoy their new vehicle but also receive an enticing package, including $5,000 worth of Jeep Performance Parts (JPP) by Mopar, along with the invaluable lifetime benefits of Jeep Wave customer care.
As the embodiment of the Jeep brand, the Wrangler stands as an icon, sporting immense recognition within the automotive industry. Its legacy stretches back to the 1986 Chicago Auto Show unveiling, marking its debut as a 1987 model. This momentous occasion marked the transition from the revered Jeep CJ to the new Wrangler, continuing the rich heritage established by the original 1941 Willys MB.
Jim Morrison, Senior Vice President and Head of Jeep® North America, expressed, “With 5 million Wranglers sold, the Jeep brand continues to grow, fueled by the unwavering passion of the Jeep global community. With legendary 4×4 capability, open-air freedom, and a timeless design, the Wrangler embodies the spirit and soul of the Jeep brand.”
Highlighting the enduring appeal of the Wrangler, Morrison added, “More than 80% of the 5,000,000 Wranglers sold since 1986 are still on the road, having fun out there and showcasing the amazing staying power of the vehicle. Our new 2024 Wrangler raises the bar once again as the most capable Wrangler yet, with more technology, safety features, and refinement.”
The journey began 37 years ago with the introduction of the first Jeep Wrangler (YJ) at the American Motors Corporation (AMC) in Brampton, Ontario. Over the years, subsequent generations – the TJ in 1996, the JK in 2006, and the JL in 2017 – have built upon this storied history, combining unmatched off-road prowess with authentic Jeep design.
While the initial Wrangler YJ arrived as a two-door model with two engine choices, every subsequent iteration has focused on enhancing refinement and comfort for daily use without compromising the world-renowned off-road capabilities that define this iconic SUV.
Fast forward to today, and the all-new 2024 Jeep Wrangler raises the bar again by offering heightened capability, advanced technology features, and enhanced refinement. The lineup encompasses an array of models, including Sport, Sport S, Sahara, Willys, Rubicon, the new Rubicon X, High Altitude, and Rubicon 392.
From the eco-friendly 49 MPGe electrified 4xe plug-in hybrid (PHEV) to the commanding HEMI® V8-powered 470-horsepower Rubicon 392, the 2024 Jeep Wrangler boasts an unparalleled array of powertrain options within the off-road segment. This variety ensures that Wrangler enthusiasts can select the propulsion system that perfectly aligns with their lifestyle.
Enthusiasts can already find the 2024 Jeep Wrangler arriving at dealership lots, ready to continue the legacy of one of the automotive world’s most cherished and capable vehicles.
