About a month ago, the Jeep® and Mopar brands began teasing their annual concept vehicles for the annual Moab Easter Jeep Safari. Usually, both brands will release a series of teaser sketches of the upcoming vehicle, before showing the actual vehicle to the press and public in the days leading up to the event.
This year, both brands are doing it a bit differently. Instead of releasing all of the sketches together, they have decided to only release one or a few at a time.
The first two sketches were released on February 25th, showed a concept surrounding the all-new electrified 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe (WL74) and the Gladiator midsize pickup (JT). A second image was released a week later of what appears to be a 2023 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon 392 20th Anniversary Edition. Today we are getting another image, this time it is another Gladiator concept.
The image was accompanied with the text of ” Ever wonder what blending two mighty off-roaders like the Jeep® Wrangler and Jeep Gladiator might look like? What if a truck dared to be more like an SUV to increase its departure angle? The latest Jeep concept heading to this year’s Easter Jeep Safari reinvents what the ultimate terrain tackler dares to be, delivering an abundance of four-wheeling confidence and a pinch of open-air freedom.”
The “Rubicon” badge on the sketch looks very familiar to the 2020 Jeep Gladiator Flatbill Concept. On the Flatbill Concept, the Rubicon text on the hood is recessed surroundings. We also see that the hood features a large power budge and air-intake. We believe that this concept could be a Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon 392 cut down to highlight a pickup box where the rear cargo area would be. If you look closely at the rear of the sketch, you can see that the box and body are connected together.
The Moab Easter Jeep Safari kicks off on Saturday, April 9th, 2022, and will go on until Sunday, April 17th, 2022. Stay tuned as we will continue to bring you more coverage of the new Jeep and Mopar concepts, as they become available.
