Jeep® Opens Up Pre-Ordering For India-Built Grand Cherokee Two-Row!
Production Begins For The Indian-Market...
On Monday, Jeep® India opened up pre-order reservations for the all-new 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The company took to its Twitter page to share details regarding the initial orders of the fifth-generation Grand Cherokee, a follow-up to the most-awarded SUV ever.
Prior to its official launch, Jeep announced that the production of the fifth-generation Grand Cherokee (WL74) would expand outside its Detroit Assembly Complex facilities in Detroit, Michigan to its Ranjangaon Assembly Plant in Pune, India, making it the brand’s fourth model to produced inside the Indian border.
“The all-new Grand Cherokee promises an exceptional experience for both driver and passenger,” said Nipun J. Mahajan, Head of Jeep® India. “The model was developed and designed to offer legendary capabilities, class-leading spaciousness, and excellent safety, making the fifth-generation model a global icon in the luxury SUV segment.”
With pre-orders open, dealers are expected to begin by the end of the month.
The Ranjangaon Assembly Plant will only produce right-hand-drive (RHD) two-row models for the region. With premium styling and craftsmanship inside and out, the Jeep Grand Cherokee has more than 110 advanced safety and security features, including an impressive amount of standard safety features, plus available driver-assist systems, 360-degree surround view, drowsy driver detection, and night vision cameras.
Segment-leading technologies include a 10.25-inch front passenger screen, rear-seat monitoring camera system, rear-seat entertainment displays with built-in Amazon Fire TV, and an available premium 19-speaker, 950-watt McIntosh audio system.
The Indian market model will get the turbocharged 2.0-liter (GME-T4) inline-four-cylinder engine paired with a ZF-sourced 8-speed TorqueFlite automatic transmission as its only powertrain. The Indian-built Grand Cherokee will also get the Quadra-Trac I 4×4 system as standard equipment.
