Jeep® Launches Wrangler Sport ’41 Edition In Japan

Only 150 Units To Be Offered

Jeep® has a long tradition of honoring its roots, and the latest limited-edition model continues that legacy overseas. Jeep is rolling out another ‘41 Edition model—this time tailored specifically for the Japanese market. Stellantis Japan has announced the release of the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sport ‘41 Edition, a special version designed exclusively for Japan. Production will be capped at just 150 units, making it a rare piece of modern Jeep history.

A Tribute To 1941 –

The year 1941 marks the birth of the Jeep brand, with the original Willys MB serving as the rugged military machine that defined off-road capability. The new ‘41 Edition pays homage to that legacy with a unique military-inspired design. Its defining feature is an exclusive deep green paint, simply called “‘41.” The color was carefully chosen to mimic the tones of soil, trees, and stone, echoing the camouflage practicality of the Willys MB while blending perfectly into natural surroundings.

Distinctive Design Details –

Based on the Wrangler Unlimited Sport trim, the ‘41 Edition comes dressed with exclusive touches that set it apart from the standard lineup. A decal depicting the silhouette of the Willys MB climbing a ridgeline is placed on the fender and rear window, while a “One of ‘41” badge sits proudly on the driver’s side of the SUV. These design elements tie the vehicle directly to Jeep’s historic origins, while also delivering a sense of exclusivity that collectors and enthusiasts will appreciate.

The interior retains the same rugged functionality of the Wrangler Sport, with no flashy trim upgrades—Jeep prioritizes heritage over luxury. Buyers will also receive a Jeep-branded “‘One of ‘41” keychain and a collaboration item from Oregon-based outdoor gear company POLeR, further enhancing the adventurous spirit of this package.

Pricing & Availability –

Interestingly, Jeep is offering this limited edition at the same price as the standard Wrangler Unlimited Sport in Japan. The manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) is ¥7,890,000, equivalent to approximately $54,000 USD. Considering the exclusivity, the commemorative decals and badging, plus the bundled accessories, the pricing strategy makes this model particularly appealing for Jeep loyalists.

Built For Adventure –

Like the base Sport trim, the Wrangler Unlimited Sport ‘41 Edition is powered by Jeep’s proven 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine, paired with an 8-speed 850RE automatic transmission. It features Jeep’s trademark Command-Trac® part-time 4×4 system, solid Dana axles, and skid plates to handle serious off-road duty. In other words, this isn’t just a heritage showpiece—it’s still every bit a capable Jeep designed to tackle trails and rough terrain.

By rolling out another ‘41 Edition model—this time in Japan—Jeep is reinforcing its global commitment to heritage while tailoring products for unique markets.
