Jeep® India Unveils Its Compass 5th Anniversary Edition Model!

On June 1st, 2017, the first Jeep® Compass (M6) rolled off the assembly line at the Ranjangaon Assembly Plant in India. It marked the first “Made-In-India” Jeep vehicle at the time and has since been joined by the Wrangler (J6) and Meridian (H6).
To celebrate the fifth anniversary of the event, we discussed on Tuesday that Jeep India had left a teaser hinting about a special edition model in the works.
Now, we have the official details on the newest special edition: the Jeep Compass 5th Anniversary Edition (exclusive to the Indian marketplace).
The 5th Anniversary Edition model gets a new Gloss Black grille, Natural Gray seven-slot grille rings, Natural Gray mirror caps, Granite Crystal-painted 18-inch aluminum wheels, Natural Gray badging, and trim bezels, as well as, a special “5th Anniversary Edition” commemorative badge. The vehicle will also feature a Gloss Black roof, body-colored front fascia, and fender flares.
On the inside, the Compass sports an all-Black interior scheme with Piano Black accents on the instrument panel (I/P), and a Black headliner. Other interior highlights include the 10.1-inch Uconnect 5 touchscreen infotainment system, panoramic sunroof, automatic dimming mirror, and contrast stitching on the leather seats.
The 5th Anniversary Edition will also carry over the standard Compass powertrains. It will be offered with a 163 horsepower, turbocharged 1.4-liter inline-four-cylinder gasoline engine mated to a 7-speed DCT automatic transmission or a 173 horsepower, 2.0-liter turbodiesel inline-four-cylinder mated to a 6-speed manual transmission for two-wheel-drive (4×2) models. On four-wheel-drive (4×4) models, the only engine choice is the turbodiesel mated with a ZF-sourced 9-speed automatic transmission.
The 5th Anniversary Edition will be available in 7 exterior colors paired with a Gloss Black roof. Those colors include Galaxy Blue, Techno Metallic Green, Pearl White, Exotica Red, Magnesio Grey, Brilliant Black, and Minimal Grey.
The Compass 5th Anniversary Edition diesel 4×2 has a starting Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) of ₹24,44,000 (or about $30,692.54 USD), while the diesel 4×4 model will have a starting MSRP of ₹28,24,000 (or about $35,465.17 USD).
