Jeep® Gladiator Production Has Been Down Due To Parts Issue
Production Is Scheduled To Restart On May 6th...

Production of the Jeep® Gladiator (JT) has been temporarily paused at Stellantis’ Toledo Assembly Complex South Plant due to a parts inventory issue. The plant, which operates two shifts dedicated to building the midsize pickup, has been down since Monday, April 29th.

Stellantis spokesperson Ann Marie Fortunate confirmed the pause, citing the need to “align parts inventory with demand.” The company expects to resume normal production the week of May 6th, barring any unforeseen changes.
This isn’t the first time Gladiator production has been interrupted. The Toledo facility experienced extended downtime last year as Stellantis responded to slower sales and excess inventory. This week’s production pause adds to a growing list of Stellantis plants affected by recent disruptions, including the Detroit Assembly Complex and Warren Truck Assembly Plant—both currently down due to engine shortages and supply issues.

The company has also had to manage shutdowns at Windsor (Canada), Toluca (Mexico), and Saltillo (Mexico), largely tied to the impact of new 25% U.S. tariffs on imported vehicles, which took effect in early April.
While Jeep Gladiator sales are being supported by steep incentives—like up to 20% off MSRP on 2024 models and a $7,000 bonus cash allowance on 2025s—first-quarter sales still dropped 7% year-over-year.

When production pauses at the Toledo South Plant, it affects more than just Stellantis employees. Nearby suppliers that build Gladiator chassis and bodies are also temporarily idled, amplifying the local economic impact.
