Jeep Expands Renegade Lineup In Europe With New “S” Model:
Europe Gets Its Own High Altitude Model...
Just a couple weeks ago, we told you about the premium yet sporty new 2019 Jeep Renegade High Altitude model. Well the Jeep brand has pulled of the wraps off the North American-spec High Altitude’s counterpart, the Euro-spec 2019 Jeep Renegade “S” model.
Just like the High Altitude, the Renegade S is characterized by it’s Granite Crystal accents which includes the vehicle badging, grille bezel, roof rails and painted 19-inch aluminum wheels. Exterior looks are also enhanced by the new-for-2019 Bi-Function LED projector headlamps, LED tail lamps, LED daytime running lamps, and LED cornering fog lamps.
Inside, the Jeep Renegade S gets an all-black interior scheme with tungsten-colored stitching. A leather wrapped steering wheel, 8.4-inch Uconnect touchscreen with navigation, dual-zone automatic climate control, special interior door speaker door grilles and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
To guarantee maximum protection and comfort while driving, the Renegade S comes with Adaptive Cruise Control, Forward Collision Warning-Plus with Active Emergency Braking (Lane Assisted Braking System)and Lane Sense Departure Warning-Plus.
Unlike the North American-spec Renegade High Altitude which comes standard with the new gasoline 1.3-liter turbocharged four-cylinder, the Euro-spec Renegade S comes with three options for European buyers. The 1.3-liter turbocharged four-cylinder is one of those three choices. However, it is rated at 150 horsepower for its European duties. Two diesel options are also available, a 1.6-liter and 2.0-liter MultiJet II engines are equipped with SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction), all in compliance with the latest Euro 6 / D regulations.
The engine lineup can be mated with a few different transmission options which include, a 6-speed manual, 6-speed automatic DDCT (Dual Dry Clutch Transmission) and a 9-speed automatic for greater comfort and smooth ride.
