Jeep® Compass Trail Edition Arrives In Japan
Trail-Inspired Design, City-Ready Attitude
Jeep® is adding a splash of attitude to its Japanese lineup with the introduction of the Jeep® Compass Trail Edition, a limited-run model that blends urban sophistication with rugged visual flair. Stellantis Japan will offer just 100 units nationwide, making this a rare sight even in crowded city streets.
Based on the Compass Longitude grade, the Trail Edition takes Jeep’s compact SUV formula and gives it a more expressive personality. The Compass has long been one of Jeep’s most versatile global models, sized just right for tight urban environments while still carrying the brand’s unmistakable SUV presence. Measuring roughly 173.4 inches (4,405 mm) long, it fits comfortably into Japanese parking spaces while offering the higher seating position many buyers want.
Trail-Inspired Styling With Urban Appeal –

What sets the Compass Trail Edition apart is its Black and Gray exterior theme accented with Bright Red details. The most noticeable touch is the red accent on the lower front fascia, which immediately draws the eye and gives the front end a more aggressive stance. Jeep swaps out traditional chrome trim for neutral gray and gloss black finishes, creating a more modern, stealthy look.
The Trail Edition also rides on 18-inch Gloss Black aluminum wheels, one inch larger than the standard Longitude setup, giving it a wider and more planted appearance. Around back, a unique TRAIL badge with red lettering sits on a camouflage-style background, reinforcing the model’s limited-edition status without going over the top.
A Cabin That Matches The Attitude –

Inside, Jeep carried the red-and-black theme into the cabin. The seats feature synthetic leather upholstery with red and black stitching, while the leather-wrapped steering wheel also gets red contrast stitching. The instrument panel incorporates matching accents, tying the whole design together in a way that feels sporty but still refined.
Standard equipment remains a strong point. The Compass Trail Edition comes equipped with Jeep’s Uconnect® 5 system displayed on a 10.1-inch touchscreen, along with advanced driver-assist and safety features. In plain terms, it delivers the tech and peace of mind buyers expect in a modern compact SUV.
Limited Numbers, Premium Price –

The manufacturer’s suggested retail price is ¥4,790,000, tax included. At current exchange rates, that works out to approximately $32,000–$33,000 USD. For Japanese buyers, the appeal isn’t just the equipment—it’s exclusivity. With only 100 units available, this Compass is aimed at customers who want something different from the typical showroom fare.
A Consistent Jeep Strategy In Japan –

Following the earlier Commander Trail Edition, this Compass Trail Edition shows Jeep’s continued focus on offering Japan-specific limited models that emphasize design and individuality. It’s less about hardcore off-roading and more about standing out in everyday life—without losing Jeep’s DNA.
For Mopar and Jeep fans, the Compass Trail Edition is a reminder that even familiar nameplates can still surprise when the details are done right.
