Of the more than 2,000 vehicles evaluated by the Brazilian publication Quatro Rodas Magazine, from the most varied segments and prices, two Jeep® models were highlighted in the important award given by the magazine. More than that, the Renegade Longitude (Latitude in North America) claimed the win for “Best Buy of 2022” in the R$170,000 (or about $33,130 USD) category and was named “Best Purchase of 2022”.
The results were announced earlier this week at a ceremony in São Paulo. Altogether, there were 29 categories of awards, representing cars from different segments and price ranges. To reach the Top-3 list in each category, the following were evaluated by the Quatro Rodas staff: price, devaluation, insurance cost, parts and revisions, equipment, and size of an authorized dealer network.
The Renegade Longitude has long been a popular choice for those looking for an affordable SUV in the Brazilian marketplace. For the 2023 model year, an updated version of the Renegade has made its way to dealers. The Renegade Longitude comes standard with the turbocharged 1.3-liter (T270) inline-four-cylinder engine with 185 horsepower, 8.4-inch Uconnect 5 infotainment system, LED headlamps, fully digital instrument panel, wireless cellphone charger, automatic air conditioning, 18-inch aluminum wheels, and Black leather seats.
In addition, the Jeep Compass also placed in the Top-3 in two different categories. The Compass Longitude gasoline (T270) and Compass Longitude diesel (TD350), took 2nd and 3rd place, respectively in the SUV category for R$220,000 (or about $42,900 USD).
In the SUV category of up to R$270,000 (or about $52,620 USD), the Compass Trailhawk TD350 and Limited TD350 models also placed 2nd and 3rd. And its no wonder, why the best-selling C-segment SUV in Brazil stands out with the efficiency of its gasoline and diesel engines, four-wheel-drive (4×4) and list of impressive standard features.
