The Jeep® Renegade faces increased competition in Brazil, prompting the launch of a new entry-level model to take on rivals such as the Chevrolet Tracker 1.0 and Volkswagen T-Cross Sense 200 TSI.

In response to the growing competition, the Renegade underwent an update in 2022 for Latin America (LATAM), and the 2024 lineup will now include a new model, the 1.3 Turbo. With an MSRP of R$ 139,000 (approximately $27,607.30 USD), the 1.3 Turbo will be priced below the current entry-level Sport model.
Externally, the Renegade 1.3 Turbo will lose its standard roof rack and feature 16-inch steel wheels with 215/65 R16 tires instead of the Sport model’s 17-inch wheels. The interior will also be simplified, with no leather-wrapped steering wheel or shift knob and a different seat fabric.

Despite being a budget-friendly model, the Renegade 1.3 Turbo will still come with several features, including a 6-speed automatic transmission, air conditioning, power windows and mirrors, Engine Start/Stop (ESS), Uconnect 7-inch touchscreen, steering wheel controls, and an electronic vehicle information center (EVIC).
In terms of safety, the 1.3 Turbo will be equipped with hill-start assist (HSA), speed limit recognition, all-speed traction control, four-wheel disc brakes, driver fatigue detection, electronic roll mitigation, anti-lock brake system (ABS), and six airbags (front, side, and curtain), as well as forward-collision warning-plus. However, it is unclear if the new model will include lane departure warning-plus and traffic sign recognition.

The 1.3 Turbo will only be available in front-wheel drive (4×2) and feature the Traction Control Plus (TC+) electronic locking differential system. This system will be activated by pressing a button and calibrating a
more aggressive traction control in light off-road conditions. However, the system will automatically deactivate when the vehicle reaches speeds exceeding 65 km/h (40 mph).
Jeep aims to continue Renegade’s success in Brazil by launching the 1.3 Turbo model, which is expected to play a vital role in maintaining the brand’s competitive edge.
