Jeep® Brazil Celebrates Best Month Ever With Renegade Lineup:
More Than 300,000 Renegades Have Been Sold Since Launch...
The Jeep® Renegade was designed to reinvent the compact SUV segment and expand the iconic automaker’s lineup around the globe. Originally launched in Brazil, at the Jeep Automotive Pole in Goiana, one of the most modern Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) plants in the world, the Brazilian market fell in love with the compact off-roader. Over the past 5 years, the Renegade has sold more than 300,000 units in Brazil alone.
Last month, the Renegade had its best month ever in the Brazilian market with 7,875 units sold. This was in part to the addition of the new 2021 Jeep Renegade Moab, a name shared with a special edition Wrangler model that made its debut in 2018. The new model is powered by a 2.0-liter turbodiesel with 170 horsepower and 35.7 kgfm (or 258 lb.-ft.) of torque. The diesel is paired to a 9-speed automatic, offers 4×4 traction with a terrain selector with 4 modes and Hill Descent Control (HDC). Other features include a 7-inch Uconnect touchscreen, dual-zone air conditioning, rear parking sensors, and fog lights.
The Renegade Moab has a more aggressive off-road look, with front and rear fascias from the popular trail-rated Trailhawk. The new model also features black accents both front and rear, all-terrain tires, and 17-inch aluminum wheels. Renegade Moab models will be available in five colors for 2021, Recon Green, Ambient White, Billet Silver, Antique Gray, and Carbon Black. The new model is priced below the Longitude (our Latitude model) diesel.
The 2020 model year marks the fifth consecutive year that the Jeep brand has led the SUV segment in Brazil. In addition to being sold in the Brazilian market, the Brazilian-built version of the Renegade is exported to 12 other countries in Latin America such as Argentina, Uruguay, and Chile. The North American-spec model comes from the Mefli Assembly Plant in Italy.
The Brazilian-spec Renegade is made up of seven models…
