Jeep® has officially added the all-new, all-electric Recon 4xe to its website, marking another step toward the model’s highly anticipated launch. With production set to begin on Monday, February 24, at the Stellantis Toluca Assembly Plant in Mexico, the rugged, adventure-ready SUV is moving closer to dealership arrival in Q4 2024.
The images featured on Jeep.com offer a first look at the Recon 4xe, but eagle-eyed enthusiasts have noticed a few changes. The standard blue tow hooks, which have become a signature of Jeep’s plug-in hybrid (PHEV) lineup, have been swapped for traditional red 4×4 tow hooks. This change has sparked speculation about a possible hybrid version, a rumor that gained traction after Stellantis North America COO Antonio Filosa hinted at future powertrain expansions for the Recon.

Another notable edit is the removal of the “Moab” badging on the hood, which was previously seen in earlier marketing materials. However, sources indicate that the Moab trim will still be the top-tier off-road variant, featuring a slightly lifted suspension, aggressive Nexen off-road tires, and Jeep’s signature open-air experience, complete with removable doors, rear windows, and an open roof.
While Jeep has not released official specifications, the Recon 4xe is expected to offer serious off-road capability, blending traditional Jeep ruggedness with all-electric performance. With its boxy design, squared-off fenders, and Wrangler-inspired styling, the Recon is poised to be a compelling option for those seeking an EV that doesn’t compromise on adventure.

Jeep’s website confirms that the Recon will hit dealerships in late 2024, though sources suggest they may be held in containment for a short period, similar to the Jeep Wagoneer S and Dodge Charger Daytona. Barring any production delays, expect the first units to start arriving at dealers around October.
Stay tuned for more updates as Jeep prepares to launch its latest electrified off-roader.
