Italian Carabinieri Orders 1,300 Units Of The Fiat Tipo For Law Enforcement Duty!
Diesel-Powered Hatchback, Will Be New Police Vehicle...
The Italian police agency, Arma dei Carabinieri has renewed its fleet of law enforcement vehicles. The agency has called for 1,300 units of the compact Fiat Tipo. The supply includes a framework rental agreement, through Leasys.
Decked out in the classic Blu Arma livery with a white roof, the new fleet will consist of the five-door hatchback equipped with the 130 horsepower 1.6-liter Multijet inline-four-cylinder diesel engine. The outfitting of the cars is being developed in a specialized way according to the request of the agency. Most of the components that will transform the Tipo into a law enforcement vehicle will be produced and assembled in the Mirafiori plant.
Among the specific upfit equipment is the pair of flashing lights mounted to the roof, combined with the swinging headlight stand out, LEDs in the grille, the locking rear door mechanism, license plate holder, and two-tone siren.
Inside, the Tipo will be upfitted with a loudspeaker under the dashboard and a specific antenna. The control panel on the tunnel is equipped with backlit buttons, and the front pillar provides a red map light. Under the seats, there are two bivalent weapon holders, as well as folder holders, two flashlights, a tablet holder net, two baton holders, and two shovel holders.
The trunk compartment houses a sliding desktop, a specific ceiling light, and a 12-volt power socket. Obviously, there is no shortage of first aid kit, a 2-1/2 lb. fire extinguisher, front and rear rubber mats, removable covers for the rear seats, and self-tensioning snow chains.
The new fleet of Fiat Tipo expands the Stellantis vehicles range that the Carabinieri currently operates with. The other models include the Alfa Romeo Giulia and Jeep® Renegade.
