What Makes The Gladiator A True Truck, As Well As A Jeep...
Mark Allen, who is Head of Jeep design is no stranger to truck design. Before he was in the Head of Jeep design, Allen has held a variety of positions of increasing responsibility in the Product Design Office, including, the position of Chief Designer – Jeep/Ram Truck. He worked on several different truck designs. But his most famous truck design has to be the 1997 Dodge Dakota Sidewinder Concept.
From the age of five, Allen has wanted to design cars and trucks. His ideal place for gathering inspiration for new designs is from behind the wheel of his current ride. Allen likes to get out of his element, find solitude and cover great distances on road trips.

Being a Jeep-diehard, Allen knows the brand and its heritage inside and out. So who else better to design the first Jeep pickup truck in almost 30 years.
Here, Mark Allen takes us through the design features of the all-new 2020 Jeep Gladiator pickup that his team has design for production. It’s far from a Wrangler having a bed slapped onto it. Instead, Jeep has built a truck from the ground up, using some lessons learned with the Ram Truck brand and some things from the legendary Jeep brand, and created the most capable and unique midsize truck ever!
