RAM To Unveil Its All-New Ram 700 Pickup For South & Latin America Tomorrow:

New Compact Pickup To Help Grow RAM Brand In Americas...

First introduced in 2015, the compact Ram 700 pickup has played an important role in the RAM brand’s global portfolio. The compact pickup has allowed the brand to offer an affordable entry-level pickup to countries where the average customer may not be able to afford bigger offerings like the Ram 1500. Based on the Fiat Strada, the Ram 700 has been the ideal tool for the Latin America and South America marketplace for those looking for a truck for work and play.

Recently, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) pulled the covers off the second-generation 2021 Fiat Strada in the Brazilian market. The complete renovation of the 2021 Fiat Strada began with the MPP (which stands for Modular Platform Pick-up) platform, dedicated exclusively to the development of the new truck. With 10% more in torsional stiffness, the model increased its already recognized strength and structural durability. This is due to the use of noble steels in hot stamping and high and ultra high strength steels in 90% of their base (underbody), ensuring more security due to the better integrity of the cabin and greater energy efficiency.

Through the MPP platform, it was also possible to house a new front and rear suspension thinking about improving the vehicle’s comfort and handling. There are new springs, shock absorbers, and geometry, as well as a new suspension crossbar and stabilizer bar at the front, and a new rear axle. The new Strada also features a higher ground clearance of 8.4-inches and even better approach and departure angles with up to 24º on entry and up to 28º on exit, which is best-in-class.

In addition, the new positioning of the rear suspension allowed for a greater load width in the bucket. This means that the Cab Plus models can hold 1,354-liters (or 47.8 cubic feet) of volume, while the all-new four-door Double Cab models can hold 844-liters (or 29.8 cubic feet). The load capacity also goes further and ranges from 650 kg (or 1,433 lbs) in the five occupant version to up to 720 kg (or 1,587 lbs) in the entry configuration. That is more load capacity than most of the models of the last-generation Dodge Dakota.

The Ram 700 will be sold in 12 countries that include Costa Rica, El Salvador, Honduras, Guatemala, Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico, Panama, Peru, Bolivia, Dominican Republic, and Chile. The all-new Ram 700 will join the Ram 1000, Ram 1500, and Ram 2500 in those markets.
