DS Automobiles Goes To CES 2022, With Their Formula E Race Car!

All-Electric Race Car, Shows French's Brand's Direction Going Forward After 2024...

Fully committed to energy transition within the automotive world, Stellantis’ French DS Automobiles brand is being represented at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, Nevada this week. On the Stellantis stand, DS Automobiles is showing off its Formula E World Championship DS E-TENSE FE21 single-seater, like a winning secret of electrification from the brand. The participation of DS Automobiles in the Formula E World Championship serves as a test laboratory for the development of its 100% electric production models, especially in software terms.

Taking advantage of its commitment to this competition to transfer its expertise to its production vehicles, DS Automobiles is accelerating its electrification strategy and will present new exclusively 100% electric models from 2024.

This aggressive tactic aims to offer technical efficiency, dynamism, and refinement. It can also guarantee seamless mobility in the face of intensifying regulation around car use, especially in town centers.

The first premium manufacturer to commit to Formula E, DS Automobiles is the only brand to have won two consecutive Teams’ and Drivers’ titles. As of now, DS Automobiles has renewed its commitment until 2026, while starting the development of a new generation of single-seater that’s more competitive and more efficient. This technology laboratory enables progress to continue with production models.

At the Consumer Electronics Show, DS Automobiles is exhibiting DS E-TENSE FE21, the single-seater from the Formula E Championship that’s driven by champions Jean-Éric Vergne and António Félix da Costa.

With two manufacturers’ titles, two drivers’ titles, 14 wins, 17 pole positions, and 37 podium finishes in 63 E-Prix, DS Automobiles has been able to benefit from the research and success of its racing team while developing its electrified models. With competition still ahead of production cars, the women and men at DS Automobiles have been able to enrich themselves with experience acquired while lifting titles, as much in the choice of materials and the design of parts as in software expertise. This expertise already transfers to the production models to manage energy with optimized consumption and the ability to recover energy during deceleration. Totally electric motor racing opens the way for innovation and is the secret behind DS Automobiles’ accelerated development in technology. The Brand is at the forefront of Stellantis in electrification and software management.

By 2024, all the brand’s new designs will be exclusively 100% electric. Future models will continue to offer the latest competition-developed technology with remarkable refinement and technical features perfectly adapted to what DS Automobiles customers want.

This is the second time DS Automobiles has been at the CES event in Las Vegas. In 2017, the DSV-03 drivers took part in a virtual Formula E race as part of the CES.
