AUCTION: 800-Mile Carbon Fiber-Bodied 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon

SpeedKore Carbon Fiber-Bodied Challenger Looks Amazing...

As the current-gen Dodge Challenger comes to the end of its lifecycle, we have been seeing a number of 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demons come up for sale on various automotive sites. With HELLCAT Redeye models selling for record prices, we aren’t too surprised.

One particular Demon though, caught our eye on the popular automotive auction site, BringATrailer.com.

Equipped with a carbon fiber body, the panels were formed by using carbon fiber fabric pre-impregnated with epoxy resin then molded and cured by SpeedKore Performance Group, using their in-house autoclave. Other exterior features include a carbon-fiber hood with pins, factory-style Air-Grabber™ scoop, Air-Catcher headlamp, carbon fiber rear spoiler, and Red Demon fender badges.

SpeedKore says that the carbon fiber body save around 250 lbs., over the stock panels.

Armed with functional and dedicated drag racing features, such as Torque Reserve, Launch Assist, and Line Lock, the SRT Demon was built to be an elite performance machine highly capable on the street, absolutely dominating at the drag strip.

The 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon was the world’s first purpose-built, factory production drag car. Powered by a 6.2-liter HEMI® Demon V8 engine topped with a 2.7-liter IHI supercharger with increased boost pressure to 14.5 PSI.

When the Demon is equipped with its Direct Connection parts from the Demon Crate, it can produce 840 horsepower and 770 lb.-ft. of torque on 100+ high-octane unleaded fuel. This particular car also features additional modifications performance under its current ownership include ID1050x fuel injectors, a 2.85-inch supercharger pulley kit, and a 21-volt boost-a-pump, and a unlocked Demon Crate Performance PCM.

The car rides on Black 18-inch x 11-inch lightweight aluminum wheels wrapped in 315/40R18 NITTO NT555RII drag radial rubber. 

Inside, this car is equipped with power-adjustable, ventilated, and heated bucket seats are upholstered in Black leather with Alcantara inserts and feature White stitching as well as the Demon logo embossed in the seatbacks. Additional appointments include Alcantara door inserts, cruise control, dual-zone automatic climate control, an 8.4-inch Uconnect infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a Harman Kardon® 18-speaker sound system.

The serialized badge on the instrument panel (I/P) states that this car is No. 118 / 3,300 produced for the U.S. and Canada. Currently, this car has 1,297 kilometers (806 miles) on its odometer

The Carfax report shows no accidents or damage and lists history in Wisconsin, Texas, and British Columbia. The car does not have a title, as it is registered in a country that does not issue titles for vehicles. It is being sold on its British Columbia registration.

It will be listed until Wednesday, February 1st, 2023 at 4:55 p.m. EST. 

We will be watching closely, as we are deeply interested to see just how much this carbon fiber will go for once the auction closes.

this is probably the only demon i wont buy just because speed core took away the iconic supercharger, i mean it only reached 1200 hp and im sure with a twin charged set up and other upgrades it could top 1500+. sure they made a full carbon body and it looks good i wont lie, but reducing that much weight and swapping the charge just for 1200? come on.
