Steve Beahm, Head of Parts & Service (Mopar) and Passenger Car Brands, FCA – North America recently visited Jay Leno’s Garage to show off the latest lineup of Challenger widebodies that are available for the 2019 model year. Leno, himself has owned a couple of Dodge Vipers and has even owned a couple of modern day Dodge Challengers since their debut in 2008, amongst other classic Mopars.
Beahm, brought along a trio of 2019 Dodge Challengers. First there is the 485 horsepower 6.4-liter HEMI V8 powered 2019 Dodge Challenger R/T Scat Pack Widebody. Next is the 717 horsepower supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI HELLCAT V8 powered 2019 Dodge Challenger SRT HELLCAT Widebody. Last is the all-new 2019 Dodge Challenger SRT HELLCAT Redeye, which is powered by the Demon’s supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI V8 tuned for the street with 797 horsepower on pump gas.
Watch as Jay and Steve take the 797 horsepower SRT HELLCAT Redeye around the streets of Los Angles, California. While Leno does like to get on the gas of the Redeye, there are some interesting bits of information thrown into the conversation.
