Dodge To Kick Off Celebration Of Challenger’s 50th Anniversary At AutoMobility L.A.:

Challenger Nameplate Celebrates 50 Years In 2020...

This morning, Dodge released some details to the media that the performance brand is planning on kicking off it’s iconic Dodge Challenger 50th Anniversary celebration starting at this year’s AutoMobility L.A. event, November 18th to the 21st. It is then followed by the L.A. Auto Show which is the first major North American auto show of the season annually, which takes place from November 22nd to December 1st. So what does Dodge have planned?

According to Dodge, the brand will have 50 new and heritage Challengers from the 1970-2020 model years, including celebrity cars, customer cars and fan-favorites, such as:

  • 1970 Dodge Challenger R/T Shaker Convertible
  • 1970 Dodge Challenger T/A
  • 2008 Dodge Challenger R/T Concept
  • 2017 Dodge Challenger SRT392 (owned by Samson Ebukam, Los Angeles Rams)
  • 2018 Challenger SRT Demon (Guinness World Record-setting)
1970 Dodge Challenger T/A. (Dodge).

While it’s unsure, that the brand might show off a new special edition Dodge Challenger like the ACR model that the brand is rumored to be working on. Our sources are also telling us that the performance brand is planning on another special edition Dodge Challenger 50th Anniversary Edition, that would be more of an appearance package celebrating the muscle car’s 50th Anniversary with a special paint scheme, interior cues, and special serial number similar to the 2011 Dodge Challenger SRT392 Inaugural Edition, which also made its debut at the L.A. Auto Show. So we aren’t just sure yet, of what the brand has fully in store for the L.A. Auto Show.

With record sales this last quarter, it seems that the big two muscle car is more popular than ever and since the car has become the halo car for the Dodge//SRT brand since the discontinuation of the Dodge Viper in 2017, we expect Dodge to be celebrating the original car’s 50th Anniversary all year along.
