Dodge Releases Final Fratzonic Exhaust Sound for Charger Daytona

Here Is The Official Sound Of The New Charger Daytona...

In a bold move that fuses heritage with cutting-edge technology, Dodge has taken the wraps off the final performance character of its all-new Dodge Charger Daytona’s Fratzonic Chambered Exhaust system. This groundbreaking system was revealed during a press conference preview at the highly anticipated Roadkill Nights Powered by Dodge event, setting the stage for what enthusiasts can expect from the all-electric 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona R/T and Charger Daytona Scat Pack.

The Fratzonic Chambered Exhaust system is more than just an exhaust note—it’s a revolution in how electric vehicles (EVs) sound and feel. Dodge has shattered the stereotype of silent EVs by creating a system that delivers a visceral, tactile experience. This patent-pending technology is designed to bring the signature rumble of Dodge’s iconic muscle cars into the future, serving as the auditory backbone for the next-generation Charger.

“The world’s first Fratzonic Chambered Exhaust brings the raw rumble of iconic Dodge muscle to the next-generation, all-electric Dodge Charger Daytona,” said Matt McAlear, Dodge CEO. “Our Dodge enthusiasts crave that visceral connection you get when you drive a Dodge muscle car, and the Charger’s new Fratzonic system delivers the adrenaline-pumping spirit they expect. It’s all about that direct, emotional connection with the car. When you hear it and feel it, you’ll know it’s a Dodge Charger Daytona.”

Dodge released the above video this morning, showing the exhaust sound in many different situations and the Drift Mode available on the new Charger Daytona. MoparInsiders co-editor Robert Miller is currently at the event and will likely follow up this article with his own impressions, video, and photos.

The Fratzog Legacy Continues –

The Fratzonic Chambered Exhaust takes its name from the Dodge brand’s historic Fratzog logo, which has now become the symbol of its next-generation vehicles. First teased with the Dodge Charger Daytona SRT Concept in August 2022, the Fratzonic system has been perfectly fine-tuned, delivering a unique sound profile that will make the 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona unmistakable on the road.

Dodge has ensured that the all-new Charger is an evolution and a revolution in muscle car performance. This unveiling at the Roadkill Nights event is just the beginning, with the Charger set to make its public debut at this year’s horsepower festival at M1 Concourse in Pontiac, Michigan.

Inside the World’s First Fratzonic Chambered Exhaust –

So, what makes the Fratzonic Chambered Exhaust so unique? This system is equipped with dual bespoke, high-efficiency extreme bandwidth transducers paired with dual Fratzonic Chamber-loaded passive radiators, all housed in a custom enclosure and powered by a dedicated 600-watt amplifier. This setup creates a deep rumble and visceral feel, perfectly aligning with Dodge’s performance DNA. Four custom-designed elastomer isolator bushings further enhance the system, mimicking the isolation of traditional internal combustion engine exhausts.

The Fratzonic system isn’t just about noise; it’s about interaction. It integrates with the Charger Daytona’s driving inputs, such as accelerator pedal position, speed, and torque output, to deliver signature performance tones. This acoustic feedback is essential for driver engagement, especially at high speeds and on the track.

Different driving modes also alter the Fratzonic sound profile. For example:

  • Sport Mode: Provides a balanced, medium sound output.
  • Drag, Drift, Donut, and Track Modes: Deliver a louder, more aggressive roar.
  • Stealth Mode: Offers an entirely silent option for a more subdued experience.

Drivers can control the Fratzonic Chambered Exhaust settings via the Charger Daytona’s 12.3-inch central touchscreen, ensuring they always have the perfect sound for any driving situation.

Enhancing Every Drive –

The Fratzonic Chambered Exhaust doesn’t just make noise; it enhances every dynamic vehicle event, including:

  • Power Up/Power Down
  • Idle/Rev
  • Acceleration/Throttle
  • PowerShot
  • Deceleration/E-Motor Regen

Positioned in the Charger Daytona’s lower rear fascia and marked by a distinctive Fratzonic logo, this exhaust system is a key element of the car’s identity, ensuring that the future of Dodge muscle is as loud and proud as ever.

The 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona is set to redefine what it means to drive a muscle car in the electric age, with the Fratzonic Chambered Exhaust leading the charge. Those attending the Roadkill Nights event on August 10th can see and hear the 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona for the first time.

Good cause at least they won't be only sitting there.
Anxious if I'm being honest, they cannot afford to mess it up and make something rather unmemorable or something you don't want to remember.

Too bad they didn't put the kind of effort they did for fake sound to update the Hemi.

A parable:

Hey! This champagne you gave us to drink looks and tastes like Kool-Aid. What is it?
The people running the show claim it's named "Authenticity", and make sure everybody drinks some of it.

Last night I road in my first electric vehicle, a BMW, and it drove pretty well. As we drove, without malice, I began to ask questions and my friend’s glowing face began to mellow. He punched it at a crawl and my neck snapped, the power was instantaneous and intense. He admitted, he finds the car too sensitive to throttle inputs and a bit intimidating. He noted that the driving characteristics are different and really takes a relearning process to deliver safe or satisfying driving. When we spoke about the strangle hold of charging necessity, longer distance uncertainties and value depreciation and insurance costs his face drooped a bit more. I never broached the spontaneous fire risks because he is a friend. Enough.
I truly wish my friend luck, enjoyment and safe driving, but bottom line, I’m sticking with my gasoline powered Mopars.
Dodge in its Dayton produced an amazing electric car, but it’s still electric and any thoughts of giving one a try vanished last night in that BMW. No way, no how. It’s a Six Pack Hurricane or nothing.
