The Kelley Blue Book (KBB) Brand Image Awards recognize automakers’ outstanding achievements in shaping and maintaining brand attributes that capture the attention and enthusiasm of the new-vehicle buying public. Award categories are calculated among luxury, non-luxury, and truck shoppers. The 2021 Brand Image Awards are based on consumer automotive perception data from KBB’s Brand Watch study. It marks the third consecutive year that Dodge has won the award.
During the awards, Dodge took home the “Best Car Styling Brand” for its aggressive muscle car styling. Among the top reasons for purchasing a Dodge vehicle was their exterior styling, being “fun to drive” and overall power and acceleration. Both the Challenger and Charger are coming off of a strong 2020 despite the ongoing pandemic, with combined retail sales up 6% year over year.
For the 2021 model year, the Dodge brand updated its popular Durango three-row SUV. With updated exterior styling, a new interior with a Challenger-inspired cockpit, and more performance thanks to the addition of the limited edition 710 horsepower Durango SRT Hellcat – the most powerful SUV ever. Dodge also added its supercharged 6.2-liter H.O. HEMI HELLCAT V8 to its four-door Dodge Charger lineup. The 2021 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Redeye Widebody produces 797 horsepower and 707 lb.-ft. of torque and pushing the 4,600 lb. sedan to a top speed of 203 mph, making it the most powerful and fastest mass-produced sedan in the world.
Last year, Dodge added the 807-horsepower Dodge Challenger SRT Super Stock to its lineup. It was born from the success of the limited edition record-setting 840 horsepower 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon, and now becomes the halo of the Challenger lineup, outperforming the competition in the modern horsepower wars as the newest ultimate drag-racing muscle car.
“Dodge represents quintessential American muscle through and through,” said Isabelle Helms, Vice President of research, market intelligence, and pricing strategy for Cox Automotive (the owner of Kelley Blue Book). “Aggressive exterior styling with unique heritage design cues immediately draws consumers to the brand. That styling is matched perfectly to unrivaled performance under the hood. Dodge is true to its brand from its styling to its performance.”
Dodge continues to offer customization right from the factory floor with unique appearance packages, a variety of different color stripes, and wheel finishes. For those who like a vehicle that stands out, Dodge offers a number of high-impact colors like Sinamon Stick, Frostbite, F8 Green, and Hellraisin.
