This past Friday, Universal Pictures released the first trailer to the ninth installment of the Fast and Furious franchise. As a key sponsor of the film, Dodge//SRT rolled out a new commercial dubbed “The House of Power” over the weekend showcasing several of the new movie’s clips, as well as a lot of Dodge B-Roll footage, along with actor Vin Diesel providing narration. But for those with a keen eye, one short clip at the 18-second mark really stood out.
We know Dodge//SRT loves to hide Easter eggs in various commercials as well as press photos, but this might be the biggest bit of news from one of these Easter eggs yet.
Over the weekend, we told you about several new details our sources told us about the upcoming 2021 Dodge Durango. The news also included that the 2021 Dodge Durango would be getting a Hellcat variant, something MoparInsiders.com broke word of back in March of 2019. However, in this latest commercial we see that there is one solid shot of a new “IndiGo Blue” colored Durango fender shot, prominently featuring the Hellcat logo.
First off, the picture itself features a color not currently available on the Durango lineup and we know Dodge has slowly been sharing more colors between its Challenger and Charger offerings with its Durango lineup like F8 Green and Destroyer Grey. The second standout thing about the shot is the lighting coming from the Durango’s headlight housing. In the exclusive MoparInsiders.com spy photos of the 2021 Dodge Durango SRT, caught a glimpse of the new 2021 Dodge Durango’s LED headlamps and the white color of the new lights appear to shine through in this latest shot.
We expect the Dodge//SRT brand to make a formal announcement later this summer of the 2021 Dodge Durango lineup, including the new 2021 Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat. We do know that the Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) brands already will have a huge gathering of debuts at the new summer North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit, so maybe Dodge will have something special planned around that time as well.
