Dodge Charger Daytona Scat Pack Spotted Testing in Italy

Not an Alfa Mule—Just Europe Getting a Taste of Dodge Muscle

There’s been some online chatter about Dodge Charger Daytona Scat Pack models popping up in test fleets around Italy, and naturally, the rumor mill kicked into overdrive. Some are speculating that the cars might be test mules for the upcoming next-gen Alfa Romeo Giulia, which is expected to launch around 2027. But let’s pump the brakes on that theory for a second.

The Charger Daytona rides on the new STLA Large platform, the same architecture that will underpin future Alfa and Maserati models. So sure, there’s a connection. But there’s a key difference here—the Giulia is a D-segment sport sedan (think BMW 3 Series size), while the Charger Daytona is a bigger E-segment bruiser (more like a 5 Series). So from a packaging and size standpoint, it just doesn’t line up.

If this were a serious Giulia mule, the body would be chopped, narrowed, and shortened to fit the dimensions of the next-gen Giulia. Instead, we see complete, production-spec Charger Daytona Scat Pack models—nothing cut up, no Frankenstein bodywork, and no camouflage to hide new sheet metal. That alone tells us this isn’t a Giulia in disguise.

What’s more likely? These aren’t test mules for Alfa at all—they’re exactly what they look like: Dodge Charger Daytona Scat Packs doing routine testing ahead of their European debut. We’ve been hearing whispers for months from our sources that Dodge Europe plans to launch the Charger Daytona in select markets across the continent in 2026. The timing checks out.

Helping fuel the speculation, our friend Walter Vayr (@GabetzSPYUnit) recently caught a Diamond Black Charger Daytona Scat Pack parked outside the Maserati Modena Assembly Plant. That raised some eyebrows, since Maserati also uses the STLA Large platform. But again, this looks more like fleet testing or regional calibration work than a secret Alfa mule project.

Need more proof? Head over to the Dodge Europe website. The Charger Daytona has been on the homepage and featured prominently in marketing efforts throughout 2024, especially at major car events overseas. That tells us Dodge is serious about bringing this all-electric muscle car to European streets—and they’re putting in the miles to make sure it’s ready.

Whether it’s being tuned for different road conditions or quietly shown to dealers and media behind closed doors, this looks like business as usual for a global rollout. And honestly, it’s about time Europe got a proper taste of American muscle—electric or not. The outgoing Challenger was only offered in limited configurations overseas, so here’s hoping the new Dodge Charger—whether it’s the Daytona or the upcoming SIXPACK models—will broaden the brand’s presence and give European enthusiasts more to choose from.

So, no Alfa Giulia mule here. Just Dodge doing what Dodge does best: shaking things up.

I wonder if there is a chance for right hand drive for the U.K, Australia etc.? The "Six Pack" ice would be a perfect fit for Australia, considering the history of the Australian six pack Charger from the 1970's.

Outside German and Turkey where does that monster fit. 😀 I can't imagine trying to navigate it through rolling hills and city centers of England and Italy.

I can't sit here and say that this car has my attention in both Six Pack and Daytona variations because in all honesty, to me, they are both awesome. Maybe not perfect, but still awesome. To me, what I don't understand is why not have both the S/O & H/O six pack cars in both 2 and 4 door configurations and why not have the 3-speed gearbox in the 400V Daytona cars? I know they're working on an upgraded battery system which hopefully will be around my the second or third model year of the new Daytona but the three-speed gearbox seems like a no-brainer for all EV trim levels.

Yeah.....ahhhh ...... yeah.....

not really work with the EV system. One of the Advantages of is less complex drivetrain. Look how these systems work and why that is not a no-brainer solutions. You would have to configure the system more like a conventional ICE powertrain. Not a horrible idea for say a Truck or Jeep but your talking a entirely new model.

You could add something in the motor housing, but then you would have make sure it syncs per module...and for sure it wouldn't be a manual in any conventional sense.

Other Manufactures have tried the geared feel and hasn't gone well.

I am taking bets that there will be a 4 door HO, just not at launch. Patience.

I've lived in England... plenty of room there. If S Class, 7 Series, Land Rovers etc can fit then so can the Daytona. I'd be glad to live there again if I could cruise the country in a Charger 😃
