Dodge Europe has announced its partnership with the WorldSBK Championship as the ‘Official Car’ and ‘Official Safety Car’ for the 2024 season. For those unfamiliar with WorldSBK, the series is one of the most popular in the FIA Superbike competition. The bikes are based on heavily modified production sports motorcycles. The move puts the American brand on the worldwide stage as the series kicks off this weekend in Australia, at the Phillip Island circuit, before continuing with eleven more races throughout the year, all contested on the European continent.
Dodge will provide a fleet of five high-performance vehicles, all featuring a specially designed ‘SBK’ livery. In the lineup, there will be two 2023 Dodge Challenger SRT HELLCAT Jailbreaks, equipped with the iconic supercharged 6.2-liter (370 cubic-inch) HEMI® HELLCAT V8 producing 717 horsepower. Both of these cars will play the role of the ‘Official Safety Cars’ of the competition.
There will also be a 2024 Dodge Durango SRT392 equipped with the 475 horsepower 6.4-liter (392 cubic-inch) HEMI V8 and a 2024 Dodge Durango SRT HELLCAT with the 710 horsepower HEMI HELLCAT V8, serving as the ‘Race Direction’ and ‘FIM Safety Officer’ official vehicles.
A third Dodge Challenger, this time an 807 horsepower SRT HELLCAT Redeye Jailbreak, will be used as a static Expo Car present alongside the podium. The five vehicles will be on center stage throughout the different steps of the competition.
“As Dodge Europe, we have worked hard on this project, and we are proud to start this new exciting cooperation, the first for Dodge Brand in the EU: the partnership with WorldSBK is built on a common “performance and race” spirit and fits perfectly with a fan world and an audience of enthusiasts for our brand. At Dodge, we always aim to reach new heights, putting a winning attitude, grit, and determination into our work,” stated Domenico Gostoli, Head of RAM & Dodge Brands Enlarged Europe.
“Built to take on the road in style, Dodge muscle cars deliver on the promise of their looks with power and acceleration under the hood to match. We are proud and thrilled to welcome Dodge and bring it together with WorldSBK. As a production-based motorcycling series, we identify with Dodge’s tradition of high-performance cars, and the alignment of our values makes for an exciting brand association,” stated Francesco Valentino, Head of WorldSBK Commercial & Marketing Department.
