Direct Connection Expands HEMI® Crate Engine Offerings

High-Performance HEMI V8 Options Continue Amid Shift to Electrification...

Despite Stellantis’ recent decision to phase out HEMI® V8 options from its passenger car lineup, the automaker continues to embrace its V8 heritage by expanding its Mopar Direct Connection catalog. This initiative allows performance enthusiasts to access high-powered HEMI crate engines that keep the spirit of American muscle alive, even as the company shifts its focus toward electric vehicles (EVs).

First launched in 1974 and revitalized in 2022, Direct Connection has become Dodge’s official source for high-performance parts and technical expertise. As the brand celebrates 50 years in 2024, it has announced the introduction of new HEMI crate engines, including the Hellephant A30 426 and Drag Pak 354. These supercharged engines are designed to deliver exceptional power and performance for enthusiasts and racers alike.

The new Hellephant A30 and Drag Pak 354 engine blocks will be available in various configurations to accommodate custom engine builds. Designed with all-new construction for improved strength, oiling, and water jacket design, these engines represent the next evolution of the HEMI legacy.

New Supercharger Kits Enhance Performance Options –

In addition to the new engine blocks, Direct Connection is also rolling out three new supercharger kits for the 6.2-liter HEMI® crate engines. These kits aim to elevate performance and drivability for a range of vehicle builds, further enhancing the appeal of the HEMI® lineup.

  • Direct Connection 3.0L E85 Supercharger Kit: Building on the success of the 2023 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170, this kit features a twin-screw supercharger that provides a significant increase in airflow and power potential, capable of producing up to 21 PSI. With an MSRP of $11,995, this kit is a powerful upgrade for the Hellcrate Redeye 6.2L Supercharged HEMI crate engine.
  • 2.4L and 2.7L Supercharger Replacement Snout Kits: These kits allow enthusiasts to replace the supercharger snouts on their existing engines, enhancing performance without the need for a complete engine replacement. The 2.4L kit is priced at $1,095, while the 2.7L kit is available for $1,295.

As Stellantis shifts its focus towards electrification, maintaining the HEMI® V8’s legacy through high-performance crate engines showcases its commitment to performance enthusiasts. Ouch ! Every time I start to get into the Hurricane thinking, Mopar hits me between the eyes. Heck, even the minions at Dodge, they need to conform to survive we know, up and teases us with a Drag Pack Hemi, just hurts so bad. Build them as a direct bolt-in for the otherwise fantastic Charger, but stop killing us already. We know your pointing the way. We know where your hearts are, but so are ours, and it hurts. Damn fools at Stellantis, they are clueless and a bunch of dorks. Yes I just admitted my tacit embracement of the Hurricane and then this surfaces. Not fair, not nice, this is cruel and unusual punishment. If there is a next generation NHRA Factory Stock Charger, this engine will be under the hood. Any aftermarket businesses getting the hint here? Hello, Hemi in a Dodge Daytona, get it ?

I wish but doubt it.

The only way for V8 HEMI to return is if they improved their corporate average

A new V8 would have to be a ground up redesign. I can’t mentally close the door to that maybe some point but Stellantis will run all companies into the ground before that could ever happen.
