FIAT Partners With Garmin To Create New Panda & Tipo Special Edition Models!

Ready For The Everyday Adventure...

Earlier today, FIAT pulled the covers off of its newest special edition models for its popular Panda and Tipo nameplates. Created in partnership with famed satellite technology developer Garmin, the all-new Garmin special edition models look to build on the success of the brand’s widely popular Cross trim. The Cross trim level has been a hot-seller for both nameplates with 1 out of every 4 Pandas and 1 out of every 2 Tipos sold, being a Cross model.

Available in either Foresta Green, White, Grey Metallic, or Black exterior colors, the Panda Garmin special edition is highlighted with some Orange elements such as the line above the side moldings, the “Panda” script on the Matte Black-painted 15-inch wheels, a “Garmin” badge on the B-pillar, and even a new Matte Light Gray textured paint has been created for the skid plates, mirror caps, and side moldings.

The Panda Garmin customer is looking for a metropolitan style with a strong personality. So it is fitted with LED daytime running lights (DRLs), fog lamps, and a set of black roof bars.

Inside, there is a specific interior color scheme with Orange details, like the stitching on the Black fabric upholstery of the seats. Standard equipment features include automatic air conditioning, a 7-inch Uconnect touchscreen with Bluetooth®, Apple Carplay, and Android AutoTM compatibility, and steering wheel audio controls.

Under the hood is a 70 horsepower naturally-aspirated 1.0-liter GSE-T3 inline-three-cylinder engine with 12-volt belt start generator mild-hybrid technology.

Available in Foresta Green, Gelato White, Colosseo Grey, Maestro Grey, and Cinema Black, the Tipo Garmin also is highlighted with Orange elements – such as the line on the side, a triangle in the front grille mesh, and the “Garmin” badge on the B-pillar. The car also features Matte Black details including the door handles, roof bars, and pillars. The result is a strong bold color combination, which is further enhanced by the new Matte Light Gray textured paint on the mirror caps, skid plates, front grille inserts, fog lamp surrounds, side skirts, and front and rear bumpers.

An exclusive set of 17-inch Black-painted aluminum wheels with Orange elements, and LED front and rear lights have also been equipped.

The interior reflects the exterior’s look, with Orange details on the seats. The driver can use the new fully-configurable 7-inch thin-film-transistor (TFT) digital cluster, which allows one to control the status of the car, multimedia information, and one’s phone. There is also a 10.25-inch Uconnect 5 touchscreen that ensures a simple and comfortable user experience, also thanks to the wireless connection for Apple CarPlay and Android AutoTM functions.

Finally, for maximum comfort onboard, automatic air conditioning, cruise control, electric rear windows, a third rear headrest, the front armrest, and the premium soft-touch steering wheel and shifter knob with soft upholstery come standard.

The new Tipo Garmin offers a wide range of the latest generation of Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), which make driving easier and prevent potential hazards. These include Attention Assist, which detects the first signs of driver fatigue, sending an acoustic and visual warning to the instrument panel; Traffic Sign Recognition, which identifies the maximum speed permitted on the road the car is driven on; Intelligent Speed Assist, which suggests to the driver to set the speed limit; and Lane Control, which keeps the car in the lane as long as the lane markings are properly detectable.

Available in hatchback or station wagon configurations, the Tipo Garmin special edition can be equipped with three powertrains: the 100 horsepower turbocharged 1.0-liter GSE-T3 inline-three-cylinder engine, a 130 horsepower turbocharged 1.6-liter Multijet inline-four-cylinder diesel, or the new turbocharged 1.5-liter GSE-T4 inline-four-cylinder mild-hybrid engine.
