We've seen twin-turbo Dodge Vipers before, none more brutal than this one. Thanks to some forced induction and a whole lot of tuning, it was able to run the quarter-mile in just 8.6 seconds at a speed of 174 mph. That is incredibly quick.

This orange fifth-generation Viper was built by Vengeance Racing, the same shop in Georgia responsible for that monstrously quick 1100-horsepower naturally aspirated Corvette I wrote about back in February. It has a fully upgraded engine, but interestingly, still rocks the stock six-speed manual transmission.

The driver, Ned Dunphy, was able to set four sub nine-second times during the car's session, breaking the record for quickest manual fifth-gen Viper in the quarter-mile overall. The best part? The car is totally street-legal, and he drove it to and from the event. If that's not the coolest thing you've heard today, we don't know what is.

Vengeance recorded the fastest run for us all to see, and it includes plenty of turbo spooling and fire-spitting action. Check it out here.
