Tim Kuniskis is returning to lead the Ram Truck brand, effective immediately. Stellantis confirmed the leadership shift as part of a broader restructuring aimed at revitalizing its North American operations following the unexpected resignation of CEO Carlos Tavares last week.

YYYYYYEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Shows me Pepe LeCheapskate didn't negotiate past TKs retention contract terms.

Which make sense since he isn't French.

Shows that this was not agreed on, but TK is not clean on the current issue either.

I saw this coming once CT was fired, I hope he gets all of North America brands at some point. Maybe he will end up with Dodge and he can fold Ram back into it and get out of the horrible sales decline its suffering as a stand alone brand.

Good news

bahahahahaha we are still on the Stand-alone brand nonsense. DUDE they outsold Chevy as a Stand Alone brand. Most of the decline happened on his watch and has a do 1. Fuel prices 2. Interest rates 3. Consumables inflation. 4. Product Mix 5. Capacity (Classic cancelled) 6. Quality decline......

Stand alone has NOTHING to do with it.

Got to say I’m disappointed, he should have taken over the whole North American operation. Dodge still anguishes with the Charger fiasco and its lack of product. Chrysler is essentially rudderless and Jeep has issues. This is a bandage when major surgery is needed.
Great to see Tim back and yes Ram is critical, but I’m deeply disappointed.

This might be a "right now" move to be honest. There is no way they're going to just leave him with Ram when there is so much to be done. From the perspective out here, and I agree, yes I would have said put TK as CEO of Stellantis and let's get our brand back in order, but there may be a reason as to why they're doing what they're doing. Something else may be in the works and for TK to make his return to the company means that there is definitely going to be some changes going on, whether he has direct or indirect input in them, TK being back in the mix is definitely a good thing. It may be one step closer to the Mopar brands returning to being American owned and operated

Does it not seem like the world is returning to some form of sanity these days? At least in some areas? I was very happy to hear this news. This is a great first step. Let's hope there is more good news to come.

Deeply disappointed after some thought is a bit harsh. Like you I see this as a role too small for Tim’s talents. If it were Ram and Dodge maybe, but not Ram alone, not after the rumors of millions in the offering and him taking over as CEO. Like you, I say this can not be the whole story. But why the deception or disappointing role?
Makes too little sense, right?

So y'all don't think that Tim isn't even a bit to blame for the current situation? None... I know the buck stop at Pepe LeCheapskate but is sure as hell went through TK on the way the him.

Both of them inherited the fiscal freeze and platform consolidation, but for sure TK was closer that Pepe.

Not ever being an employee of Chrysler, Fiat-Chrysler or Stellantis, I have no idea about the internal politics which led to Kuniskis leaving and now returning. I know that a lot of profit comes from Ram and that this brand needs a quick turnaround. And I do know that Kuniskis was at the helm of Ram and Dodge during the recent renaissance that those brands enjoyed. I'm happy to see a guy at the helm that knows the brand and knows the market.

He was yes, but he also seems like a guy that will admit he was wrong. That was NOT happening with Tavares. He was driving the company off a cliff and didnt care because he had a golden parachute to save him

Jeep and Ram are the bread and butter so it is pertinent to get your two cash cows up and running and back to winning, then worry about the Dodge and Chrysler side, Chrysler has some issues that needs to be addressed, I do not think it is Chris Feuell fault either she walked in on a sunken ship with Chrysler and was told sink or swim by Tavares. I have a feeling we are going to see the NA market have its own reign here shortly with Stellantis just being the parent company. Kind of like what Geely does with Volvo and Lotus give them a good budget and free reign just as long as the meet sales targets set yearly, which I don't see a problem for Ram or Jeep, Tim is the right man and glad to see he is back !!

At the Helm for the most recent troubles. Understanding that the development cycle and product planning.

Having been through mergers more than I would like be sure he had a retention contract, that was not renegotiated. Perhaps Pepe was not happy with the results either.

A manager is only as good as his reports.

I like Tim also but…… let’s hope Mopar426 is correct.

This is a challenging time with the complex regulatory environment and mismatched consumer preferences.

Glad Tim is back. I hope this is the start of turning things around. Maybe he will also get Dodge, Chrysler and Jeep NA added to his responsibilities.
Very smart on his part when he left, he kept his mouth shut and didn’t burn ANY bridges. I am sure he knew something we didn’t and maybe this was a behind the doors plan all along, but with recent events it occurred sooner rather than later. Something we will never know.
Good luck Tim!!! Good luck righting this ship back up and back on course!

I truly believe we have all made some very valid points here. It is true that the brand has been on a really rough ride the last few years and I think it has been rough for all of us. While Stellantis & Carlos Tavares may not have completely been a good match for the brand, with Carlos Tavares doing a terrible job in the management of Stellantis as a whole. There were other factors that really didn't help the Mopars brands throughout the last several years. One of the main issues was the heavy reliance on V8 engines along with long periods of time with no really model changes and a complete lack of diversity. The brand's resilience to change along with its loyal followers, is a huge part of the reason as to why the brand is in the situation it is in. The Stellantis North American brands pigeonholed themselves into a position with a few models that have been the same pretty much since 2011 and after 2015, there were only tweaks here and there but that was about it. They gave themselves no room to move and pretty soon, we ended up here. Chrysler has one model, Dodge pretty much has one model right now, Jeep is in a weird spot and Ram is really the only one that is semi ok at the moment. Moving forward, I think both the leadership of stellantis, along with it's customers, need to realize that a V8 biased lineup is doomed to fail and that each brand needs to be diverse but, as I've said before, repurposed for what that particular brand is about. It's not about not having V8s but about sensibly having a portfolio that can balance out the brand without them having to do the knee-jerk reactions that they've been doing for the past several years.
To me, the excitement of Tim Kuniskis returning to the brand is alot deeper than just the thought of the return of the V8 to the Mopar brands. It's the hope that excitement will continue in this brand and that we will have something to look forward to with this brand. It's the hope that with Tim's return that the rebellious spirit of Dodge will live on with or without the V8 engine. Right now, we're seeing a bit of light when we thought all hope was lost. There's the huge potential of the EV mandates being relaxed and pushed back, gas powered models in Stellantis are being pushed forward, the former CEO is no longer with us which leaves room for someone who is better qualified to run the company to be at the helm and we now have a person back with the brand who is passionate about the brand. I genuinely hope that TK will get a shot at the throne and I hope that if he does that he will bring that passion with him and breathe life back into the brands. As it stands Stellantis has all of the tools that they need to be successful and move forward from this slump but it needs to be done right. Stellantis has for platforms, small, medium, large and frame and to be perfectly honest, only three of them are really needed. Long story short, we have the tools and now we have the talent and the brand has an opportunity to use what we have to diversify the brands while still allowing them to keep their core missions and identities in tack and if they're smart, they'll start pulling from alot of different avenues of what the Mopar brands really are and not just sinking everything into one direction. There is still GLH & SRT4/SRT6, Inline-6 Jeeps and other stuff beyond the V8 engine. Hopefully this time, things will work out better. All that to say welcome back Tim and I wish you the best of luck!
