The way I see it, the Grand Wagoneer is simply a trim level of the Wagoneer. If you want the bigger engine and the more exclusive interior you have to pay for it.
And I agree with Rustydodge. The pricing structure seems to leave a really nice hole for a cheaper Dodge.
A Durango with the V6 etorque at the entry level would make a lot of sense and seems like too good of an opportunity to pass on.
 
I know I sounded negative earlier in the thread, but that was toward the stupid decision to make these two separate vehicles instead of just different trim levels. It actually could have been solved by putting a different front clip on WL75 and calling it Wagoneer while making these the Grand Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer Summit.

I think this is a beautiful vehicle. I would never want something this large, personally, but it looks very good inside and out. I think it’ll be successful. For some reason, it does make me more interested in a new Grand Cherokee. Guess it’s the halo effect doing its job.
I think it essential is 2 different trim levels. different front grill inserts, different interior appointments, and different power train. It is not 2 different vehicles in anyway. It no different then Citadel or even going back further Road Runner to GTX.

Yes, essentially. It’s just a bit confusing to brand them as separate vehicles when the jump from Cherokee to Grand Cherokee gets you an entirely different vehicle, and the jump from Wagoneer to Grand Wagoneer doesn’t.

Yeah well we know that roots of that date back to wanting to continue to sell the XJ along side the ZJ which was originally intended as a replacement. The further confused when they want to continue the XJ along side the KJ. If we could go back in time we would say hey guys how about calling it "classic"

But is similar to the original SJ which was Wagoneer and became Grand and they took it up market in appointment.
 
In the real-life photos, my opinion has changed on the rear end. I first thought it was weirdly bland, but it looks refreshingly modern and clean the more I look at it. A bit like a Rivian R1S.
 
I don't like the rear end of any of the other full size SUVs. The Wagoneer has the best one of all of them IMO, even if it still doesn't look great.

And they missed the chance to rectify that, now that they released the Grand Cherokee L. They should've just named it Grand Cherokee, and named the 5-seat version the Cherokee. :)
