The global auto industry, including Stellantis, is on the cusp of admitting they have gone down the rabbit hole on electrification and that it’s a fools journey. Germany may be the first domino to fall as they seek to reverse government policy and reinstate gas power industry wide. Anyone with common sense, and a realistic and unbiased position on the climate change hoax passed off as fact could have predicted this and now the marketplace is beginning to speak loud and clear. Are the chicken little hysterical people who bought into this silliness in those ivory towers listening as the public the consumers in charge, those creating demand that clearly want those gas V-8s and not some appliance a needle head on a guilt inspired fantasy trip in some corporate office has wished up to be true. Idiots!
Heard the folks in engineering are working on hydrogen low emission fuels for most engines now built. Hope that includes one for Dodge and it’s Hemi V-8 as this Banshee concept, as stunning in design as it may be, is DOA in spite of the hype from headquarters. Shame, really. That STLA Large better fit a Hemi.
Yup, they got it wrong across the board. Time to listen to common sense folks and not some wimp who drives a Prius. Indeed, on the cusp back to reality.

I saw that.

It’s a combination of high price and the lack of the v8 in the upper trims and substituted by a 6 cylinders engine that doesn’t offer a significant advantage, and no off-road package.
If they wanted to break into a segment with a long running traditional competitor, they should have offered what the competition is offering or better.

They should have learned the lessons from the Challenger and the Ram 1500, which went from the bottom of the segment to one of the best.
But I guess even the Challenger and Charger going the same fate as the GW with the next generation, and that all because of some narrow visioned products’ planning.

Imagine towing a good sized travel trailer with that, it would be at 15-20lbs of boost at any incline meaning you're using the same (probably more) fuel than a 5.7 or 6.4 at just over 1/2 throttle. Thanks EPA!

The people who build the Prius are the ones taking a stand against the narrative. Stellantis managers are the ones in submission to the zeitgeist.

The Expedition is an established name and it started as a v8 for multiple generations.

They were until the CEO up and retired because he probably wanted nothing to do with this crap
He's still a board member. He just now has a position where work is less overbearing and can potentially keep tabs on projects like future performance cars. Not retired at all.
There was a presentation last month where they made it clear they're still using the menu approach for different future car powertrains (calling PHEVs "the practical BEV" with 120 mile variants to come), they just don't want to lose market share in areas with battery electric dominance (China, Norway) and end up being a Blackberry in a potential iPhone world come the 2030's. They didn't study a Model Y just to still allow themselves to lose market share after all.

If you will remember Toyota and Tesla were in bed together for a compliance car project. It was the second generation RAV4 EV of 2011-2014. The was also a previous battery electric RAV4 in the 1996-1998 model years which was strangled by Chevron buying out the battery supplier.

A BOF Dodge Durango version of the Wagoneer at a lower price would sell better. Hemi V8 is a must. No excuse that hasn’t been done
Has there been any recent news about the BOF Durango...man I have been waiting for it.

Been out of the loop of anything but RAM trucks for awhile.
