Stellantis Is Sending Mixed Messages About Its Future Vehicles

Stellantis Is Sending Mixed Messages About Its Future Vehicles

Is The Automaker So Focused On EVs, It Isn't Informing The Public About Its Other Offerings?

In recent months, Stellantis has faced considerable backlash over its push towards electric vehicles (EVs), but it’s worth noting that the company isn’t abandoning internal combustion engines (ICEs) and hybrids just yet. However, Stellantis’ management seems reluctant to emphasize this fact, leading to confusion and frustration among consumers and industry watchers alike.

You can't move trucks... little thing call "chicken tax"+ heavy weight.
Shows your lack of knowledge of trade & product..
Apparently stla can’t move trucks off the showroom floor. Shows their knowledge of product. According to redrider massive price cuts coming. Maybe volume does matter a little after all, not just the high margins

If you watched the presentation they are getting rid of the 2024 RAM 1500, replacing it with 2025 RAM 1500 which will have more attractive price points, but will have a Higher Average Selling Price & have higher margins for Stellantis.

Civic ran for zero margin or negative margin... for years in Greenburg until 2017 they started producing CRV to bring margin to the operation

Dart ain't going to happen, and Jeep is the main brand in North America.

Ford lost alot of money on sedans, yet they are strongly considering producing a 4-door version of the Mustang. Ford lost alot of money on the sedans they produced due to the fact that they were not competitive with anything in the market in terms of quality, along with the fact that their sedans at the end were plagued with issues and the SUV/Crossover craze was in full swing. As it stands several companies that produce sedans are actually profitable, case in point, the Dodge Charger. A Dart with more of a Hatchback design with hybrid tech that can compete with not only Ford's Mustang as a pony car, but also trims that can compete with the M3/M4 in hatchback forms as well as the Civic Type R and Integra Type S should be profitable along with a Chrysler 300H positioned as an EV Lucid Sapphire/Tesla Plaid competitor that also doubles as an S-Class AMG competitor. Dodge is already making the Charger as a coupe and a sedan, so why not just name one the Charger and the Other the Coronet? Outside of that Everything is a crossover, SUV or truck.

A Dart with more of a Hatchback design ...
There was the Fiat Tipo sedan rebadged as a Dodge Neon for Mexico, Latin America and some other markets. It was never sold here. Fiat is now selling the Fatback in South America. Citroen has just introduced the C3 Basalt. The Fiat Fastback and Citroen C3 Basalt are examples of the Crossover Coupe, which is the latest trend in Latin America and India. The Tipo is being replaced and Fiat has hinted at another fastback design besides the one from Brazil.

Dodge needs to offer some EVs for the CARB states so the company stays in business. If Dodge offered something similar to the Alfa Romeo Junior, but sized up to the C-segment that would be enough. Dodge does have the Hornet, but the marketing on that needs a total makeover.

The Lucid and Tesla are money losers. Lucid is serious financial trouble and Tesla was making money off selling carbon credits to other automakers. Chrysler needs to aim for a broader market.

Dodge is already making the Charger as a coupe and a sedan, so why not just name one the Charger and the other the Coronet?
Dodge tried that in the 1970s and it failed. That's why.

Are we still arguing that Charger needs to only be 2 doors good lord how 2 decades ago can we get.

No one is buying a Coronet, for god sake I am a old F4rt and I don't have any equity in that name.

Coupe styled sedan really ended that argument back in 06'

Margins don't matter if trucks aren't selling.
The 2 of you have 1 track minds, it's all about the margins. Different companies have products they sell at lower prices and less margin to bring in customers. All Stellantis is doing is driving people away.
WTP is going down to 1 shift because the overpriced Wagoneers are piling up on the lots. Those margins are sitting on lots. Soon there will be heavy incentives on these bland looking vehicles in an attempt to move them.
