I wasn't expecting such a big aesthetic difference to the 308 in the side profile. They actually look very distinct.
I prefer the Opel, but since my cars were either Opels or Fiats I am a bit partial.
It has some nice design nods to old Opels. I love that.
The crease in the middle of the bonnet/hood is a nice nod to the Manta.
The C-pillar black plastic piece is a nice nod to the first Astra/Kadett D.
And the interior has something much better over the 308:

These nods to Opels from their glory days shows a level of care that I don't remember seeing for a long time in Opel. I'm loving this car more than I expected.
That kind of AC control assembly is used in FCA vehicles too: both Wagoneer and 500e use it. First time on a former PSA brand, though. Sign of a change of supplier, maybe?
