SPOTTED: 2025 Dodge Charger Daytona 340 On Public Roads

Just days after Dodge surprised everyone with five images of the all-new 400-volt 2025 Dodge Charger Daytona, we are now getting our first peek at the car on public roads around Detroit. A video of the new ‘e-muscle’ car was brought to our attention by Instagram user sinister_coyote5.0. In the short video, we see what … (read full article...)

EV isn’t everyone cup of tea, and shove in it down throat everyone is a recipe of a disaster.
The current technology and infrastructure don’t help either.
The gas guzzler tax, plus emissions credit requirements, make a Hemi car a non-starter at $100K or more… and it won’t accelerate as quickly nor have a top speed as high as the base EV.

People need to stop yearning for obsolete tech and move on. It’s dead and gone forever.

Its not dead, it dates back to 2005 LX models.. That is one hell of run. They will be around a long time and plenty of parts from DC and salvaged engines.

The Modern Hemi culture will survive for decades.

But like all thing New and better come along. As much as the Elephant and Wedge engines are loved the Eagle, Apache, and Hellcats were better engines. Doesn't mean the others aren't Legendary.

The Hurricane is a better powerplant in nearly every import metric. No, it won't sound like deep high cubic inch Mopar, but either does anything else.

Even though I hate the Soulless Appliance EVs... they are quick and have their place.

Instead of complaining about the inevitable movement of time, start cherishing the journey, and honoring the past.

I'm not talking about HEMI in particular, but ICE engines in general.
Hurricane engines have huge potential. The HO version is rated now at 540hp in a truck application, and with less restrictive exhaust on the cars, I wouldn't be surprised to see near 600hp.

But to think EV is the answer for everything is a huge mistake.

Hemis are dead and gone. They don’t meet emissions standards, and a mid-tier EV will outperform, out-accelerate and out-handle most any Hemi.
No development since 2009 is the reason. The valve arrangement could be twisted, canted, quenched, and DI added. A DOHC chamber is not far from the Hemi design which Chevy, Mercedes and Ford are promoting their V8s.

MotorMaven, Why are you such an apologist for lazy, short sited management? You're the kinda sucker that pushes a fake Green technology and kills a great thing that's in our hands! I'm guessing you have blue hair, a nose ring, and a haulter top.

And be about as potent as the new powerplant.

Dodge needs a V8 like the Ram Diesel does. Ford and GM do.

It really is an odd love affair with a more complex, less balanced, and less durable configuration….. but at some point logic has to enter the picture.
