Ram’s 14.5-Inch Uconnect 5 Screen: Bigger Isn’t Always Better

Ram’s 14.5-Inch Uconnect 5 Screen: Bigger Isn’t Always Better

We Spent Time with the 2025 Ram 1500’s New Infotainment System — Here’s What You Need to Know

Image 12.jpeg

Ram has introduced a larger 14.5-inch Uconnect 5 infotainment screen for the 2025 Ram 1500 lineup, and we finally got the chance to spend some quality time with it. This new screen comes standard on the Limited, Longhorn, and Tungsten trims, while it’s an option on Laramie, Rebel, and the new RHO models. While bigger screens are often seen as an upgrade, we found that bigger doesn’t always mean better.

I am thinking of buying a new Ram Laramie. I had one overnight yesterday and put about 50 miles on it. I didn't think the 14.5 was any less responsive than the 10.5 in my '24 Durango. The Durango was bad at 1st but a factory reset took care of it. I have found uConnect 5 works best with only 1 profile. I don't know why they think 2 profiles are needed when all you want to store is different seating positions. You could do that in uConnect 4.
Incidentally I thought the Hurricane was awesome and I doubt I would miss my '16 Hemi Ram.
