Full spy shots Explorer meet FJ... If I was a Ford fan I would be disappointed.

Explorer and FJ had a Baby? Explorer went on Botched to become a Wrangler?

Not gonna lie, I'm impressed. It looks far more rugged than I was expecting.

... However, I think it still won't be as capable off-road as the Wrangler. Not necessarily a bad thing, if Ford decides to trade that for better on-road manners.

Wow you must have had better expectations than I did, I saw some concept rendering of a much more attractive and durable looking vehicle. As is in the flesh is only seems to be a drop top Explorer with a bit of FJ sprinkled in for good measure and Slight retro cues to the grill.

I am sure Ford people will convince themselves that it is cool, but really disappointing compared to what it could have been.

Not sure if you're referring to me but quite the contrary honestly. My expectations were far worse than my post might've made it seem. I was really expecting something like the old Land Rover Freelander. Disappointing and hardly worth taking off-road, but Ford only went that route with the Bronco Sport (except with slightly more off-road capability). With that said, the normal ("big brother") Bronco doesn't seem like a proper Ford product to me. I just can't unsee how much it looks like an Icon-esque vehicle. Might just be me being insane though 🤷‍♂️

Well I suppose it is all subjective. But in both all I see is Explorer Spyder with some Toyota FJ sprinkled in for good measure.

I think it was a real blow opportunity for Ford not to put more heritage cues in it, but look what GM did with the Blazer.
