Ram is officially gearing up to re-enter the midsize pickup market, and fresh details are shedding light on what’s to come. Following Stellantis’ recent $13 billion investment in its U.S. manufacturing operations, we’ve learned that the long-awaited Ram midsize truck will roll off the line at the Toledo Assembly Complex in Ohio. The same facility currently produces the Jeep® Wrangler and Gladiator.

 
Love what I'm hearing on the new midsize truck and it's almost certain it'll have the new EVO 4 engine under the hood. The unique chassis has to be some version of the STLA frame since they would likely want it to be similar to the 1500 in some ways.

The thing I'm most curious about is the new large SUV. That chart in your video showed Jeeo with 2, Dodge getting one and RAM getting one, the last one has to be Chrysler, because it's the only NA brand that hasn't seen product investment. Also, Chrysler still hasn't made any commitment to saying the C6X was still coming as a large 2 row.
 
A bit smaller than the ranger. The ranger doesn't justify even producing, right? The Dodge Dakota became so ugly in the last years ,people stopped buying them, period end of story. Mostly this body on frame truck needs to actually be affordable, wouldn't you agree? I had a Dakota and liked it.

Think it was less about the looks and more about the size and price. Not to mention the underpowered and extremely fragile 4.7 V8. Got too big and too expensive.
 
Rumors are Ford is finally going to bring the Everest the NA, is this a good time to bring back BOF MidSize SUV?
 
My impression on this Ram mid-size is that management has done a real evaluation of mistakes made on the last mid-size thus creating a mission of delivering a great product regardless of costs and offering real market driven value with emphasis on pricing and capability. I agree, looks are not so critical in this process, the big Ram is a great model to emulate, so I’m confident on this issue. Most important, it must offer class leading capabilities at a more than competitive price point and I think the choice of linkages between this Ram and future significant products now under development are key to making these necessities for the Ram very doable and smart. Not going fast or cheap on this truck will pay dividends in the end. It seems management is making better decisions across the whole product board. Actually very hard decisions if you think about it. My impression.
 
As much as i like the look of this rendering today of a possible Dakota I sure hope they have a more modern idea for the actual truck, by 2028 the current Ram 1500 design will be 10 years old and better be significantly updated by then.

I have to disagree that the last Dakota was under powered with over 300 hp the 4.7 V8 was very competitive, and they even actually cleaned up the but ugly looks it came out with originally around 2004 or 5.

This truck can’t just steal 1500 sales it has to be a game changers with several cab sizes and bed and power train options, but I know it will probably only be a crew cab with a 5 foot bed and 4 cylinder turbo.
 
Cheaper to build Hemi, had more HP, was relatively more durable... and from memory was lighter.

Now the new Hurricane4 make more power and Torque. Big progress.
