New charger?

I don’t understand how you can come to such conclusion/question when the current Charger have nothing to do with Electric Day/EV. STLA Large is a spin-off of Alfa underpinnings that is on Stelvio.
The presentation was about Electric, so it’s very obviously not a facelift.

Also you must factor in that EV Day is a Securities and Investment Presentation which more legally serious than a media/consumer event.
Architecture.... I don't expect STLA to require a total reconfigure all the carriers especially in plant the just built or refitted. I know this seems trivial, I just trying to help people think about it outside the 90s and recent PSA development models.

Sounds like a leak for future contract negotiation... standard stuff

Wouldn’t be surprised if the STLA large vehicles went to Mack, and Brampton was setup for more Ram 1500 production. Allows Warren to build more Wagoneers, too.

Mirrors what GM is doing with Oshawa.

Canadian plants are good for products which can be on sale both in US and EU. Keep it in mind.

Stellantis do have plenty of capacity in Europe, if anything output for something like Challenger could be moved to Europe.
Brampton becoming Truck plant would be interesting .

Since the details came out about the contract talks with the canadian unions i've thought this was going to happen.
Brampton has been due for a renovation of sorts since a long time. The lx/ld/lc replacements were originally due around 2020. And there was nothing new in the plans untill at least 2024.

There now is the new Mack plant that will produce Grand Cherokee and Grand Cherokee. Looking at the number of employees for this new plant one would asume Mack will be able to eventually built as many vehicles as Jefferson North has been building. To me it would make a lot of sense if after the current Grand Cherokee ends production they will use Jefferson North as extra location for the New Grand Cherokee as they should be able to up GC + GC L sales from 300000 to 400000 annually.
That would leave a capacity of around 200000 annually. That would fit with the capacity needed for the STLA Large based Charger and Challenger + a new Dodge CUV/SUV.
From 2024 onwards there is tariffless trade possible for cars between Canada and EU.
It could make sense to built vehicles in Brampton that are marketable in the EU as well as in the US. Electric vehicles based on STLA medium with Canadian sourced batteries and built in a Canadian subsidized plant could make a lot of sense as well.

Don't forget the Midsize RWD/AWD STLA Large midsize (Ridgeline-style) Truck............that should be another 120,000 units.
STLA Medium is Windsor (next generation Pacifica).

Would Belvedere not be a good candidate for a third STLA Large plant in the US. I could imagine the midsize pickup and the very capable Jeep from the electric day presentation as good candidates for belvedere. An electrified compact jeep (cherokee size) on STLA medium could be an interesting export for the european market. The current Cherokee is not competitive in Europe not in the least because of the 10% tariff that is put on it since it is imported from the US. That is why building it in Canada could help sell a more significant number of vehicles in the EU(starting in 2024).

They moving away from that type models for Jeep, in favor of regional customized lineup for Jeep. Wrangler PHEV likely be the only North America export to Europe.
Keep in mind, Rüsselsheim plant from GM is a ghost town now. Even adding some Astra and LCV production still leaves bunch of capacity.

Stellantis has plenty of capacity in Europe that is for sure. It says enough that they will be making a Dodge in Italy that will not be sold in the EU.
They will built a new entry level Jeep in Poland. The next gen Compass is expected to stay in Melfi. The next gen Renegade will very likely be built in Europe. However i do not think that they would bring production of the next gen Cherokee to Europe. The PHEV Grand Cherokee will certainly find it's way to europe. It has been quite popular in Europe since the early nineties. In many European markets the Grand Cherokee has become extremely expensive but it has clearly outsold the Cherokee and Wrangler throughout the years. I expect the PHEV version of the Grand Cherokee to become a viable import for the EU again.
An electrified Cherokee sized Jeep should have a small but significant market in Europe as their sales network outside of Italy will improve within Stellantis. The question is do you built it in multiple plants (EU and US) or in one plant (Canada with FTA's with EU and US). It will off course be dependant on the industrial plan in it's entirety to judge what the optimal solution will be.

must be raining cash somewhere for all these plant overhauls ..... but ok

Wouldn't the next gen Pacifica need to be on STLA Large?

It's a pretty large vehicle, with the interior volume which would benefit from every last bit of additional range offered by the largest platform.

Based on the available information your claim is false. STLA Medium size according to slides will not exceed 4.9 meters in length and around 1.9 meters in width. It's all about SLTA Large for, hmh, large unibody cars.

BTW it seems that Windsor is going with STLA Large in the future. Chrysler Airflow for example.

I make a Bet that the Minivan stays on the current architecture for another generation. Cookie to the winner.... who want that action.

I think that this is the last generation of a classic minivan and they will milk it as long as they can.

Yes, agreed. Minivans are largely irrelevant to due to full-size crossovers now. Very few people want the stigma of a minivan. It's too bad that Stellantis isn't using at least one dedicated BEV platform, though, because a full-size BEV crossover could have interior space rivaling a minivan in a more attractive body.

My guess is it will have one more extensive refresh, Styling pushed more towards a Crossover and will be milked into 2030s.
