Mysterious Ram 1500 Rebel Appears In RHO Teaser

As Ram enthusiasts eagerly await the reveal of the new 2025 Ram 1500 RHO on Thursday, Ram continues to tease the new off-road-performance pickup with daily teasers. In a recent teaser, while the Ram RHO was the focus, our eyes spotted the appearance of a mysterious 2025 Ram 1500 Rebel following the convoy of Ram pickups, taking the RHO to its “top secret” location. The 2025 Ram 1500 RHO is poised to continue the legacy of its predecessor, the iconic Ram 1500 TRX. However, instead of supercharged HEMI® power, its twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter HURRICANE I6 H/O engine will offer remarkable off-road … (read full article...)

While I genuinely suspect that this new RHO (Rebel High Output) will more than likely be powered by the 550hp 3.0L Hurricane (Cat-3) I-6 Twin turbo just like the one that is supposed to go in the next-gen Charger six pack, there is the potential that Stellantis may reveal something a bit hotter than just a 550hp twin turbo-6. There is still a missing aspect in all of this and that is the hybrid version of the ZF Gen-4 8-speed transmission. There is no secret that these hybrid transmission units add power and it has been shown in several vehicles ranging from the beloved and now gone Acura NSX Type-S, the Lincoln Aviator GT, and the 4Xe powertrains. The ZF 8-speed plug in Gen-4 Hybrid transmission, coupled with a 550hp 3.0L Hurricane I-6 TT engine would eclipse not only the TRX in horsepower and torque, but also out power the Raptor R with it's supercharged V8 engine while offering emissions free drive modes for 20+ miles. While most people interested in such a beast of a truck may not be concerned about an all EV mode. The EV transmission could also aid in a few other drive modes such as, push to pass mode for sport driving or towing up a grade and also Launch mode/Race Mode for those interested in putting their all-terrain truck on the drag strip. Back when this shift started with Dodge moving to electrification, the Hornet was touted as "A gateway vehicle" to the future of Dodge. As underwhelming and unattractive as this vehicle may be, it's technology is not without potential. We could very well be at the beginning of Stellantis doing something potentially genius, even though we can't see it yet. Granted this is very optimistic thinking but in my head, it makes sense.

Halo model with ZF Hybrid and higher boast would seem to be in the cards in the Future I agree.
