Meet The Twin-Turbo 2026 Dodge Charger R/T and Scat Pack

Meet The Twin-Turbo 2026 Dodge Charger R/T and Scat Pack

Dodge Brings The R/T and Scat Pack Names Back To ICE Power

Dodge didn’t just show up to this year’s Roadkill Nights in Pontiac, Michigan—they dropped the hammer. As tire smoke fills the air and engines roar along Woodward Avenue, the brand has just pulled the wraps off its all-new internal combustion-powered 2026 Dodge Charger R/T and Scat Pack. And no, they’re not electric. These new muscle machines run on pure, high-octane attitude, each one powered by a beastly twin-turbo 3.0-liter HURRICANE inline-six (I6)—now branded as the SIXPACK.

Well if this is the new line up I know Hemi lovers are going to be quite disappointed. All though theses seem very comparable, the love for the Hemi is pretty strong. I am hoping the Hemi makes its way back sooner rather than later for those who want it.
With this line up, I am sure sales will get back on track, but Dodge has dropped the ball, not just on the Hemi, but the lack of an entry level Pentastar V6 or a replacement.
There are many out there who have been buying the 3.5 then the 3.6 as an affordable sedan. The lack of now SXT or SE is going to hurt more than the loss of the Hemi.
They really need to rethink this and get an affordable entry Charger to the market. These new versions are stuck inbetween the Pentastar and Hemi.

I have 2 questions:
1) Will they ever put a 6 speed manual in it?

2) How much does it weigh? It better be far less than the EV version.

It’s a svelte 4816lbs I believe.
That's better than the EV at 5,800 lbs, but it should be lighter. Like 3,800 - 4,200 lbs.
No doubt a compromise/concession of building a one-size-fits-all platform.

the car weighs 5000 lbs without a hemi.it is not RETRO .. build a HEMI powered retro car like the challenger you cancelled..

At least 200lbs heavier than a Charger Redeye
At least 450lbs heavier than a Scat Pack
Almost 600lbs heavier than a 1320

257hp less than a Charger Redeye in HO form
Only 65hp more than a 2015 392 Scat Pack

I’ll take the EV for a daily driver thanks. And none will replace my Hellcat or Viper for my weekend warriors that’s for sure.

I for one am completely happy with all of it. Just waiting to see what direct connection will do for these vehicles. The RT has 6.1L horsepower and just shy of 6.4l torque.. the durango is all Hemi! Love the new green color as well. Satisfied Mopar enthusiast right here.

Comparing HP numbers is apples and oranges when this one weighs 5000lbs. It probably needs 420hp just to get out of its own way

They say 12.20 ET with 550hp and an AWD launch. It should have been 11.20's

What EV aspects in the platform are making this version so damn heavy??

3/4 second faster than the old 4500lb Scat pack. Expect similar for the SO vs Eagle.

As usual, some pretty incisive comments, not surprising with such an important product. Clearly, not everyone’s cup of tea, but for me, it’s a “I want it bad” car, that I’m now reaching a “gotta have it” point after reading this post.
My 5.7 Hemi Challenger R/T is fast enough, handles well enough, and is priced just right enough for me that now the R/T SO Hurricane Charger coupe takes that enough to a new level, it’s the enough for me that checks more boxes. Interior and electronics, all wheel drive, hatchback utility and a perfect ride for this muscle head senior citizen, that increases my “enoughs” to a higher level. Love it more than enough!
It’s not the enough Charger for enough people yet. As one observant member posted here, there is a glaring need for an entry level Charger, V-6 powered,
(or Hurricane SO), rear wheel drive, and priced much lower. A must need basic Charger, especially for four door family buyers and fleet sales. We know the Hemi is coming, it’s another enough model, but we need a basic Charger to get that enough status for more buyers.
I got my enough, we really need more “enoughs” for more buyers.
Guess I said more than enough.

As a former serious drag racer, times were everything. 60 foot times were critical, dial in times were critical and cutting a perfect light the ultimate critical ingredient. The times noted here on the Charger are NOT critical, in fact noting these times as some form of critical factor in making a purchase, to racers like me, is almost comical. The 0-60 times for a street driven, stock car is irrelevant, it means nothing. Where can you, honestly, safely, drive a Hellcat on the street? Please guys, stop the too heavy argument, it’s a heavy car, but if driven on the street by normal people, it makes no sense to be concerned about elapsed times to get you to the next traffic light. If that is your thing, buy a drag race car.

Love your comment Bill! If I could give you 10 likes I would!!!
When I was my PD’s Fleet Director, I was in the position when Ford stopped making the Crown Vic. I convinced the Chief to change over to the Charger Pursuit instead of the Explorers. Our first batch had the Pentastar 3.6. They had more HP than the V8 CV, and MUCH faster.
The following year the guys begged for the Hemi versions. So we came up with the extra money and ordered them. Yup the cars were faster and the guys loved them. One problem. We had a no pursuit policy so what good was the Hemi? Getting to a call a few seconds sooner?
After 2 years we found the Hemi cars were involved in more accidents than the Pentastar cars. Go figure. Kind of falls under what you are saying, speed belongs on the track. Unless of course, you’re part of the street takeover gang and want to run from the po-po.
Yes, if you are buying the Hemi for a show or cruise night car, or even a Sunday driver, that’s great. And yes I LOVE the Hemi. My unmarked car had one. I am even looking to get one in my next Durango GT, but I TOTALLY get your point!!!!

Low weight is more than 1/4 mile times.

I drive on a lot of curvy back country roads. I'm no professional, and even I can tell the difference in my cars from the lightest ones to the heaviest ones.
The lighter ones are simply SO much easier to handle and toss around. They've come ready to dance while the heavier ones you have to push and muscle around to get them to respond like you want.
The lighter ones have come ready to dance.
You would have to drive light cars and heavy cars back to back to see what I mean.

Another benefit of low weight: better fuel economy.
Us performance guys don't think about that much, but a LOT of people do.
