First of all. This topic is not here to criticize FCA. It's here to criticize EuroNCAP work as independent organization.

FCA and EuroNCAP are at war. All has started all they way back at the time of Alfa 156. Ex Fiat Group has asked for retest due to bad welds. Something which EuroNCAP has rejected but something which was granted to some German brands at the time namely Mercedes.

All has culminated few years back when EuroNCAP has retested Fiat Punto at the end of its production. Since than FCA is not providing EuroNCAP with cars.

Here is the newest EuroNCAP for Jeep Renegade:

As you can 4 or even 5 stars are not achieved due to Pedestrian and Safety Assist categories.
EuroNCAP is obliged to test cars with all Safety Assists for additional test. They didn't do so. We know why. Safety Assists would give higher marks for both Pedestrian and Safety Assist tests.

It's ridiculous to see Safety Assist can score in 3 different categories. I don't get it.

At the old test in 2014 Renegade has received 5 stars rating:

Hmm. Whatever the history I would initiate some good PR efforts to mend the strained relationship. Maybe post Merger FCA-PSA will have more clout.

At least we know that Renegade has a good product mix with Limited as the most sold trim level. Same is true for Compass.

And here comes another controversy. They have tested Limited version which on most markets have Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) included yet they did not test AEB and has penalized Renegade because of it,

Not to mention than on some cars efficiency of AEB is not tested and they automatically gain security points.

Or LatinNCAP. Fiat Argo and Cronos got 3 stars due to lack of ESP as series equipment. VW Polo didn't offer ESP in series yet they gave them 5 stars because they think it will have most cars sold with it even before sales had started.

The issue is that EuroNCAP is not independent. They receive money from various Governments. Of course Germans are there. Italians are not.
Also they are not buying cars "on blind" for dealerships. They can get car even well in advance of sales start. How?
