The Jeep® Wrangler (JL) — one of the most iconic 4x4s in the world — is officially on its way out in Europe. According to Auto Express UK, Jeep will stop taking orders for the Wrangler before the end of this year, with the last units reaching customers in the first half of 2026. The decision marks the end of an era for European Jeep fans, as the brand prepares to replace its long-running off-road icon with the all-electric Jeep Recon (EJ).

This is a sign of senior management maturity, of dealing in reality not a fantasy driven ideological coercion policy that obscures the truth. In a world often driven by feel good intentions that blunder through life blindly, it takes vision , clarity and just plain common sense to manage a sound business model and expansively, life in general. Am I fooling myself or has there been a systemic shift in the corporate world at Stellantis and hard truths are being recognized and common sense being applied that may not feel good but brings real positive results ?
I may have reservations about pulling the Wrangler from the European market, few red blooded American would perhaps, but the bright light here might be it’s the right and necessary thing to do if dealing in an economic, political, cultural and nuanced focused product mixture world that works. Big maybe, perhaps this is what is needed right now. I suspect it is. Conversely, is this not what is needed in North America ? Is it not what the Hemi conversion brings home ?
At what Tavares failed so badly, we might find difficult to agree on every decisions, but it seems those decisions, at long last, are being driven but sound consideration, common sense and tough leadership.
I’d love to see the Wrangler offered in Europe, but maybe given the reality of the place, the Recon is the better choice. Got to swallow hard sometimes when the bitter medicine cures body and mind. Time to realize, it’s time to be real.
