The fourth-generation Jeep® Grand Cherokee (WK2), the most awarded SUV in history will return for the 2022 model year. That’s right, it appears that the old Grand Cherokee will be alongside the new one when the 2022 models arrive in dealer showrooms later this year.

I don't get why only 4 colors. Is there a color shortage now? Since they are running down the new GC line, is that all it offers too? Soon it will be back to like it apparently was when Ford started, black only.
 
This is a golden opportunity to reinvent the Cherokee and the Chrysler Aspen. It is reality that there is the ability to run two or three vehicles on this assembly line. It seems that Stellantis believes there is a market for these two SUVs in these current configurations. So here goes my pitch.
Extensively refresh, exterior and interior a shortened WK2 Grand Cherokee to replace the current Cherokee. The current sized Grand Cherokee is extensively refreshed as is the Durango which now become the Chrysler Aspen two and three rows. This is a proven design that with a complete refresh and update that keeps people working and gives Jeep and Chrysler new or improved product. No big changes, but a whole lot of bang for the buck.
 
Is it just me, or will this make the parts and aftermarket situation challenging or did we already overcome that with the RAM 1500's ....

NO NO NO .... it old, heavy, and expensive.
 
I don't get the point of keep the old model alongside the new model(s) Unless they rebadge it to Cherokee instead.Serves no purpose.
 
It allows a comfortable ramp up without loss in Sales associated to the Change over.
